Post from Dale Partridge claiming nobody wants to live in diverse neighborhoods
I quite happily live in a neighborhood where most people do not share my religion, where multiple languages are represented, and where people have come from a lot of different countries.
Bigoted assholes always assume everyone else actually shares their bigotries.
There's so much going on in nature that we can't directly perceive; a hidden world of magical forces operating at scales too large or too small for us to grasp.
Tree coronas are just one more peek at the hidden world around us.
Good sci-comm article on this topic by Sarah Kuta:
Meanwhile in Russia…
Margarita Simonyan said that “her cancer was caused by stress and constant anxiety. She added that all oncologists have confirmed that the disease is 100 percent stress-related.”
*sigh*…

“The drones represent a loss of about $720 million. Depending on the variant, a single Reaper drone can cost about $30 million or more.”
Todd is a good follow
It’s a good question, let’s clear the air:
1) Disco is awesome, like 25 all-time classic tracks in a 4 year span,
2) Disco was hated because it was queer, brown, and black,
3) Disco was hated because it paired women and men in a different power dynamic.
4) “Disco Sucks” was a “ MAGA” test run.
i firmly believe that kennedy wants preventable diseases to rip through american communities since, in his warped mind, those who survive without vaccines will have proven themselves “healthy.”
One step further: it should be unthinkable that we would register people for the draft without first making sure that they are registered to vote. And indeed: it makes no sense generally to hold elections without making every effort to make it as easy as possible to vote! That’s what democracies do.
This family fled Syria to Lebanon for safety. Horrific.
One noteworthy thing about this article is that Platner IN AN INTERVIEW WITH THIS REPORTER, IN 2026, describes the claim that his Nazi tattoo was a white supremacist symbol as "the fucking most retarded shit I’ve ever heard in my life.“
Photo from airliner window showing most of the major car storage lots near the convergence of the Columbia and Willamette rivers in Portland. The main lot, in the bottom left, is nearly full. The upper lots are obscured by clouds
Detail of the main lot looking very full, with an additional lot that I don't remember seeing used before across the road also seemingly full of densely-packed cars (could be something else)
The upper lots that were obscured in earlier photos are shown here, with lots of space left. That said, it's unusual to see the main lot that full and this many cars in the upper lot. Just because it's not packed to the gills doesn't mean this isn't a lot of cars sitting
A bonus car lot over on the Willamette side, near Swan Island, packed with cars. Never seen this lot with cars in it before, and it is full, on top of a full main lot and getting full upper lot.
I kinda stopped checking the car storage lots up by Kelly Point on flights out of PDX, what with the auto industry having been in literal undersupply a few years back and all, but this is the most crowded I remember seeing them since the bad old days.
Could be a lot of things, but I smell slowdown.
He’s just doing wars so he can stay in office.
I wrote this post two weeks ago. Since then, JD Vance has gone to Hungary to defend Putin's puppet, and is now leading negotiations in Pakistan.

Stick 'em all in one resolution, with one or down vote. Let's see who actually believes in standards of decency versus scoring bullshit partisan political points.
"What troubles me most about my lovely country is that its children are seldom taught that American freedom will vanish, if, when they grow up, and in the exercise of their duties as citizens, they insist that our courts and policemen and prisons be guided by divine or natural law."
- Kurt Vonnegut
Today, Russia controls less Ukrainian territory than it did just one month into the invasion, and none of the 23 regional capital and special status cities Ukraine held at the start. 0/23!
Russian propaganda works desperately to hide this, because it proves they failed
a criminal conviction isn’t required to say someone does not have the moral character to run for office and i don’t understand why this needs to be said over and over and over again.
Hungary’s prime minister is more important to Donald Trump than all of his voters put together, than all Americans, than America itself, and it’s not even close. I wrote an essay yesterday to explain why: snyder.substack.com/p/the-hungar...
the reality of his war uncomfortably intruded on the carefully cultivated false reality he has created for himself and his supporters and he is desperately trying to reconstruct new boundaries for his false reality to prevent the actual reality of his loss from spilling in.

The misspellings and overproduced earnestness.
It's sort of a nice touch after JD has been leaking to every news outlet that this was 100% wasn't his idea that they're making him own it in Pakistan. 👨🍳💋
Very noticeable that AOC does good vibes and righteous anger, not sneering.
In the movie black panther, an African hero stops an American mercenary from plundering an African nation’s resources and using them to conquer the world. It is not the story of a heroic black American revolutionary who is thwarted in his efforts at global liberation.
they like Trump and they want to help him. This is why 3% unemployment under Biden was presented in headlines as a failure and rising unemployment under Trump gets "the plan is working" headlines.
Streaming is really just talk radio for millennials and zoomers, and basically just as maladjusted
Young adult happiness is falling. Percent of young people who are pretty or very happy has dropped from 88% to 76% over the last 15 years after having held fairly steady between 1980 and 2010
My hottest “I have no data to back this up” take is that phones aren’t making young people less happy. What’s making them less happy is living in a world where everyone is having their reality defined by recommendation algorithms that can only care about whether something keeps you watching.
What Piker offers is the most corrosive force on the left; a politics built on contempt and sneering.
