Is there anything more exhausting than when USAmericans act like we’re the first group of people to live under a tyrannical regime?

The issue is not that tyrants here can punish rebels; it’s that we lack conviction and a sense of higher purpose to community, the world, or anything.

I think it's much more likely that the vast majority of Americans are just too comfortable and don't care about this. A majority may disapprove, but they also aren't going to engage in any kind of revolutionary action unless things get way, way worse than they have been.

I hate that Americans will read this and say “BASED” while assuming only some bratty Europeans complaining about the US. It just goes to show how much narrow their scope is. People in the global south resisting oppressive governments don’t even cross their minds. Pathetic

Unlike every other oppressive regime, which left the power in the hands of the oppressed and never killed or imprisoned anyone, or made them uncomfortable in any way, or made it difficult to connect and organize. It was just easy and painless for everyone else, that's why they did it. Right?

Was trying to gear back into reading so I'm trying to finish the lesbian Vampires novel I had started almost a year ago (and I incredibly remembered most of what happened before in the book) but I do unfortunately come to a stand still every so often (like at this moment)

Just let me rest a bit I'm begging, I haven't known peace since I've graduated 😭
