PV doesn’t really help run a heat pump as when you need the most heat is when there’s the least sun. Marginal help in the spring and autumn maybe. Still worth it for other reasons of course but it’s battery storage and an appropriate tariff that would help

In the UK sadly old radiators are undersized.

The myth arises because old / leaky buildings plus small radiators expected only to work at high temperatures IS an issue. But they can be changed of course.
