I don’t think the US is demanding anything like a surrender. The demands tend to be pretty amorphous and shifting, but the most consistent one- that Iran give up its nuclear program and the uranium- seems fairly reasonable, especially if Iran doesn’t intend to develop a weapon (as it claims).
