I have only worked in games and the mobile industry is pretty big on illustration type of art. It might be worth looking into?

Yeah the industry has been changing a lot lately… it’s scary with all of the layoffs too. Getting hired as a character designer is pretty difficult in the western industry I have noticed too. Getting in as a generalist def worked out better for me, then getting to character designer by my 3rd gig.
