Posts by Lee Russell (TMBDOS! Podcast)
Lee and Daniel are joined by returning guest Cam Sullivan to continue their look into post-Tarantino (& frankly, at this point, post-Ritchie) crime films, with Joe Carnahan's "Smokin' Aces" (2006). Come help us stain Buddy Israel's jacket with various bodily fluids.

Everyone please applaud @ianspringerbaybay.bsky.social and @benreilly149.bsky.social for keeping their composure and having interesting things to say while I drive this episode aggressively off the rails.

Highly encouraging.
Sick-bags on standby for today's episode of Not The Same Log, in which @elliotchapman.bsky.social, @timescarcass.bsky.social and myself take a swat at David Cronenberg's 1986 existential tour de force, The Fly.

Well, it holds as much weight in reality as an actual bible quote does. Still, this clown and his ilk need to be ended.
Exclusive advance access for my patrons. Same Log 4.3 The Fly (Cronenberg, 1986). @elliotchapman.bsky.social, @exaggeratedelegy.bsky.social, & I, are all over this one like flies on... well, you know. www.patreon.com/posts/same-l...
Clarence Thomas could stand to eat a bullet, right?
Last time the wonderful @comicbookian.bsky.social was on DOES THIS COME IN CHROMIUM we learned that I am not his dad.
This time we learn that 1993’s TRANSFORMERS GENERATION 2 #1 is not your father’s Autobot.
I may need to start categorizing this as genealogy show.

Lee & Daniel continue to pull on the post-Tarantino thread, checking out Paul McGuigan's "Lucky Number Slevin" (2006). Featuring the talents of Josh Hartnett, Lucy Liu, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, and Ben Kingsley, this has to be good right? RIGHT??

It says a lot about the state of humanity that we didn't all dress up in ape costumes for the return of Artemis II.
Please join Victoria and @elliotchapman.bsky.social -and myself- for a chat about all things Bowie! Also, be sure to check out the "Be My (Bowie) Wife" podcast, which will be doing the rounds shortly:

I'm seen Sargon talk about food. No bueno.
A close-up of Richard Burton as John Morlar in the 1978 film The Medusa Touch. He has a wide-eyed, intense, and slightly distressed expression, staring directly at the camera. Below the image, the words ‘General Witchfinders’ are written in a large, white, gothic-style font against a black background.

Got to second this one. This was an insightful and informative read. It dis into a lot of stuff I used to fall for in relation to what I knew about Japan and its culture, and sometimes still catch myself falling for, unfortunately, because it's been beaten into my brain for decades.
For the Easter Sunday crowd, how's about a deep dive into Lovecraft's most frothingly racist tale, The Horror At Red Hook?

"Cyberpunk 2077" allows for a brutal melee build that you can play out. So that fits. But a true series of stories, or just a novel that fits escapes me. I am thinking of things that mix tech and a more base "fallen world", like King's "Dark Tower" series, but there's no cyberpunk in that.
Watching To Live and Die in LA and they give you the Wang Chung song straight out the gate, this movie is NOT fucking around
