Ah I was wondering what was happening with the Ratoath Road. Thanks @feljin.ie for raising it.

Come join us for the Earth Day climate protest!
Call to join a protest for climate change saying the energy crisis is the climate crisis on a green background with a megaphone
JOIN THE EARTH DAY PROTEST: 5.30pm, 22/4
Next Wednesday, 22nd April, Party Leader Roderic O'Gorman will bring a Green Party motion to the Dáil to mark Earth Day.
It calls for a renewed commitment to our 2030 climate targets, the protection of the Climate Act, and increased investment in nature.
Wind farms provided 41% of country's electricity in March The average wholesale price in March 2026 was €128.77 per megawatt-hour of electricity. Prices fell to an average of €94.20 on the days with the most wind energy while increased to €179.10 when the country relied on imported fossil fuels.
Our high energy prices are set by our high dependence on imported fossil fuels. The only way to reduce energy prices is by investing in more renewables. Lower prices, more energy security, more peace. Win win win.
I spoke to RTÉ's @mcculld.bsky.social this morning about why an inheritance tax cut for the already-wealthy is a bad idea.
Is this the only screengrab of my face I could get? Sadly yes.

Extension of Luas Green line to Finglas can proceed after High Court cases resolved Extra 4km of line to run from Cabra to north of Finglas village at expected cost of €600m
Unfortunately, it can't proceed right away because the government isn't funding Luas Finglas until 2029. It's good that there's no judicial review but it'll have no effect on the timeline because of the government's decision.
The Green Party has no confidence in this government
Over the course of last week, the actions of the Government continually made a difficult situation worse.
They caused confusion, raised tensions, and failed to protect Irish people’s ability to go about their lives for 5 days.
It has no plan to move Ireland away from its addiction to fossil fuels
The long-term solution to the fossil fuel crisis is *not* more fossil fuels.
Farmers and agri-contractors tried to stress the link between the fuel protests and food production but the reality is, it's already broken

While many protesters in Ireland are complaining about fuel costs, far-right actors and international figures are using the movement to push anti-immigrant narratives.
IMHO this is an example of a certain strand of leftism that adheres so rigidly to an abstract principle that it can’t abandon it even when the facts of a situation indicate that a different position should be taken

The self-appointed "leaders" of the Fuel Protests are truly scum of the Earth.
Why our media choose to interview the likes of Duffy here re the protests is beyond me. Do they really think he cares one iota about anyone but his own self?
Just worth saying, for absolutely legal clarity: the government does not have the legal prerogative to abolish carbon tax in its entirety. Carbon tax is a form of excise, and EU directives require excise on diesel to be a minimum of 33c per litre. (1/2)
Due to the protest and the blocking of O’Connell Street, we are unfortunately unable to access the GPO tomorrow evening. We have made every effort to contact the organisers but have not been able to reach a lead contact. We have also spoken with the Gardaí, who currently do not have further information. With great sadness, we have to cancel tomorrow’s soup run, as we rely on access for our transit van and six cars. This is especially difficult given that we have been running this service outside the GPO for 11 years. We want to make it clear that we fully support the protest and understand the importance of standing up for change. We are also deeply concerned about the rising fuel costs and the lack of timely action. We hope that by next week we will have more information or be able to coordinate access so we can continue providing this vital service. Thank you for your understanding, and we stand with you.
The Muslim Sisters of Éire will not be able to provide their much appreciated soup run to folks in need due to the protest and the blocking of O’Connell Street.

Struggling to understand this person's logic of idling a tractor engine on O'Connell Street because of high diesel prices
Someone needs to chisel this in stone somewhere. Iranian fundamentalism and political repression was proudly birthed and nurtured by those great bastions of empire, the UK and US.
Looking to speak to people who’ve cut energy use to lower bills from driving less to changing heating, appliances or gadgets. Get in touch if you’d like to contribute. RTs appreciated

Solution alert ‼️ 🚨 Our Green councillors @pidgeondublin.bsky.social and @feljin.ie want more funds for new homes in Dublin, and think new hotels should pay their share 💚
Green Party councillors in Dublin City are proposing a doubling of the levy on new hotels and using the proceeds to lower the costs of building new homes.
The party is also seeking to quadruple the current commercial development levy for advertising screens.

Dublin builds too many hotels — and nowhere near enough homes.
The Greens want to change the city tax system to fix that.
Double the tax on new hotels, use the money to cut tax on new homes. 🏘️🏘️🏘️
