I used to organize a viewing party of the movies preceding the new one but those died when it wasn't possible to even try and fit them all in a day lol. I kinda like an excuse to go see it again in the big screen. People pay to do it for no new footage all the time.

But, wearing my marvel superfan glasses, maybe it'll turn out to be a brilliant meta-commentary on how endgame itself was a time-travel retcon of the preceding movies. And maybe the changes are shit like Dr doom invading the timeline and fucking shit up? But I feel like it'll hurt endgame.

I do think there's something to be said for how John majors being an abuser (who they rightly dumped) being *the* main figure they were building around/towards.

No, I get you. I was teasing the source material for similarly contrived solutions. I love the stuff, but it's not always the most sophisticated. Though similar to GOT, it's hard to bring satisfying finality to things that had no ending planned at the outset. So few shows end well.

Tbf, it's comic accurate. The avengers, xmen and fantastic four solve at least half of their problems with time travel, many of which were also caused by time travel.

I think it's cool that both guys shared this too. I love that our fan base has treated them and others so well. Makes me love the team and city even more.

When I see this, I ask why there isn't the political will to excise this cancer and all i got that doesn't paint the whole political class as so corrupt or feckless to be entirely obsolete or, imo more likely, they fear the media portrayal would be so bad as to turn the tide back against them.

The terrifying reality is that when your leaders lack moral clarity and fortitude to match your own, you must cast aside those leaders and follow your own compass.

But in that, there is no external validation or guarantee that your path is the righteous one.

That is not to say I think catholicism is a true or even more true faith. It's just to say that mormon leadership has been so fearful of undermining itself with missteps (because the theology is so fluid and history so messy) that they've lost the appearance of true moral leadership.

Progressive mormons want their prophet to speak more boldly on global moral issues, like the pope, because they understand deep down that the reforms they hope for originating from the membership underlines the faith shaking fact that the moral credibility of a true faith should be top down.
