i was so upset when cashen didn’t protect seaver in the free agent compensation draft held on January 20, 1984. seaver ended up with the white sox. cashen made up for it in 1986, but i’ll never forgive him.
ask and you shall receive.
i’d say this is quite the debut fore Benge!
oh the pain……f’n sandy alderson🤦🏻♂️
i know. it’s silly at this point!
you’re stuck with all of us charlie! we all love you!!

Alvarez’s back started getting tight in the early innings of the win over Houston. The Mets smartly wanted to play it safe, so Alvarez — who was scheduled to play all nine innings at catcher — exited the game.
here’s the scoop:

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez was removed from Thursday night’s spring training game against Astros in the fourth inning for precautionary reasons, manager Carlos Mendoza revealed during his postgame presser.
does anyone know what happened to him?
apparently, david stearns. 😁
placed first or second in rookie of the year voting he will get credited with a full year of service time and the mets will lose the extra year of team control.
something else to consider:
if benge is on the opening day roster and wins rookie of the year the mets ge an extra draft pick.
if benge is not on the opening day roster and the hold him back till he can’t accrue 172 days service time (so the mets get an extra year of team control) but still
maybe we should keep tuchman and benge and jettison vientos (out of options but seems to be getting worse each year).
donna, i’ve missed you!
our collective stress will be much lower than usual if senga pitches all season the way he pitched yesterday and remains injury free.
the wilpons still own SNY. that is the reason.
he looks very comfortable at first base. i think he may be the ultimate answer there for 2026.
the wilpons still own sny. need i say more?
we are all pulling for you Charley!
you beat it before. you will beat it again!!
