You made my day with that video--a song that came out when I was about 13 years old. And btw, for any proud Texans out there--maybe you need a Texalele. Let me know and I'll get on it. www.facebook.com/profile.php?...

Nice!
This works out to 5 Pounds per string. Seems about right, I guess.
Once he tried out the bow tie, apparently he felt free to pursue more adventures.
MAGA is a white supremacist movement. I used to think Trump just sort of put up with the white supremacist groups to keep their support. But it's become more and more clear over time that racism and anti-Christian "Christianity" are the driving force behind his whole thing.
The price you mehntion
I like your style.
Answers the riddle, When is a pineapple not a pineapple? When it's a watermelon. ;-)
You have played hundreds of different ukuleles, I guess, so I ask you this. Have you ever run into the phenomenon of the "wolf note" with a ukulele? It's can sound something like a buzz, as I understand it.
If I recall correctly, this builder carves the neck-back-sides out of one piece of wood. Do you find that a uke constructed this way has enhanced volume and sustain, and a "brighter" sound, as compared to conventional bent-sides construction?
Impressive performance!
A custom Camp style uke I built recently--sound sample by my son, who is a better player than me. The Camp uke is classic alternative type of ukulele--the only type I make at Dave's Extravagant Ukuleles. Can I build you one? Check out here for more info: www.facebook.com/p/Daves-Extr...
Young people can be so indignant, especially about adult hypocrisy--probably because they have been well-indoctrinated with decent values, and have yet to become cynical about the "real world." So often we could all benefit hearing the voices of young people!
Could be a lyric from a country song. And I mean that in a good sense.
Could you expand on that comment?
There's a uke that looks dandy--and built like a mini guitar, like most ukes. Me, I'm more turned on by ukes that do not mimic the guitar--I call them "alternative" ukuleles, and I build them, as do many other makers, big and small, all over the world. It's a thing! www.facebook.com/groups/59443...
My passion is building ukuleles. At the same time, I am an enthusiastic (if mediocre) uke player from way back, and I have composed a few songs as well, like this one (for propaganda purposes). Head over here to see what I'm up to building ALTERNATIVE ukuleles. www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
Making progress on this custom ukulele for a Godzilla fan. Woodworking is great fun, even more fun is designing/building something that makes music, plus--Godzilla!
Nice rendition, and I like your strumming style. Something I need to work on myself.
Good thing you were very much inside on a cold day.
In some sense, every ukulele player is a maverick. The ukulele started out in life as a kind of musical outlaw--scorned by serious musicians as a toy and a joke. Myself, build ukuleles--"maverick" types only!
My latest Michi-lele--now available at goimagine.com/davesextrava... along with 6 other alternative ukuleles from Dave's Extravagant Ukuleles.
I got a "weird" ukulele--plenty of them because I build them--alternative ukuleles that do not look like mini guitars. For more info, check out FB page "Dave's extravagant Ukuleles."
We've paid good money in recent years to take our kids to a taiko drum performance and a ukulele band concert, and there weren't even sporting events attached to those.
I think MAGA folks legitimately don't understand that we *enjoy* multiculturalism. It's not something we do to act superior.
I'm pretty new on Blue Sky, trying to connect with ukulele people for exchanges about all things uke, and to spread "propaganda" for the cause of ALTERNATIVE ukes-- especially the ones I build and sell. More info on my uke FB page. Here or there, let's talk! www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
Thanks for asking! The top and back are ash, the fret board is maple, and all the woods are domestic hardwoods--reclaimed wood from my local area in Michigan.
I have been playing the uke for decades, and about ten years ago started building and selling ukes ("Dave's Extravagant Ukuleles.") I moderate a FB group for builders of alternative ukuleles all over the world--but the group is open to ANYONE with an interest! www.facebook.com/groups/59443...
At Dave's Extravagant Ukuleles, I build only alternative types of ukes that do not look like mini-guitars--mostly from my own original designs and also adapting the some of the "classics." I invite anyone to go over here to find out more about my work. www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
You did the right thing, as in, making his life just that much better. Make sure he knows that the uke is easy to play--that is but one of the beautiful things about.
