Could be, I've had similar thoughts to yours. Personal preferences play a big part in this, the setting, the general mood. I did connet deeply with some of the characters, but I see how not everyone would feel the same. Much like some prefer Bloodborne over DS and so on.

Yeah, I wasn't even let down by the fight itself but, if one has followed those characters' lore all along, having to face "that"... I don't know, it felt like we were robbed of the real deal, in favor of some cheap fan-service. But I still liked the product, in fact I think it's overall amazing!

Too bad they shifted the focus on less interesting stuff in the end and (possibly unpopular opinion) definitely ruined the finale, though I don't want to spoil it for others, it's still fairly earlyXD

There was definitely a bigger attention put into DS characters. Though I have to say, Shaman Village, cried my eyes out and IMO the best and most important moment in the whole ER game.
