They met in 2019 on the skeleton World Cup circuit, a series of competitions held in the winter, mostly in Europe. During the Covid-19 pandemic, hotel rooms were in short supply, so they shared accommodations. Love soon followed.

Popping back in here to say there is a married couple who are both competing in women's skeleton, one for Brazil and one for Belgium, and THERE WAS ONLY ONE HOTEL ROOM.

Knee surgery went well. Turns out my meniscus tear was much older than the MRI indicated, so all they could do was cut out the torn tissue, not stitch it up. On the bright side, I'm not on crutches, and my recovery should be quick. I'll just have arthritis sooner rather than later. :/

Yeah, it's odd to be *hoping* to be severely limited for the first six weeks of the semester. Because the surgery is the Thursday of the first week of classes. Because of course it is.

So I wanted to try new experiences the year I turned 50...one of them is going to be knee surgery. 🙃 The pain I've been having since April is a torn meniscus. If they can fix it, I'll be on crutches for 6 months. If they can't, I'll be back on my feet until the inevitable arthritis kicks in...

5. Favorite female character. Jody had a great arc from finding out about the supernatural the hard way to becoming a mentor and teacher to others. Grateful no one ever said how she was finally fulfilled once she was a mother. Still can't believe she never got fridged. Also, Sam/Jody is my OTRP.
