It's on you, then. No complaining for the lazy.
Thank you for your insight. It is very common in French, though. I'm reading a book in the present tense at the moment. The present tense in Arabic is found in scenarios to give them a "live" aspect. "She walks.. and takes..."
If you haven't applied butters and oils and cremes daily, you haven't tried hard enough by north african hair standards. 😄
Gorgeous hair! 😍
Reading a book in present tense in French or English was a mental workout for me as a child, because in Arabic, we never really narate in the present tense. We do switch to the present tense while using the past just like English or French do. But to have a text fully in present is unnatural.

The post is a screen shot of X post, by @AssalRad, about language used to refer to Iran vs Israel. Text in post: '''The language of manufacturing consent: Premptive strikes / ecalation Warns / Threats Targets / Attacks Goverment / Regime Right to self-defense / Condemnations Sophisticated military (has nukes) / Nuclear threat (has no nukes)'''
AI can already write, translate, and speak. What is our linguistic faculty for, if not to recognize manipulative terminology and call out weaponized language?
Isn’t it remarkable how, after commodification, the only things left are the ones that truly matter?
Key finding:
Taking 300 mg of bioavailable magnesium AND allergy pills (desloratadine) AND 8 to 9 hours of seep IS TOO relaxing and makes you not super productive.
Actions taken:
Wake up earlier and be active.
We can always think deeply about speech! We're always able to reason profoundly about discourse!

The first sentence uses only Germanic/Old Norse words (0 from Norman French).
The second swaps all replaceable words for their French-derived equivalents (Modern French: refuser, adhérer, vision, apparaître, complètement, fallacieux).
The register changes as a consequence.
- I disagree with this way of seeing things. It seems utterly misleading.
- I refuse to adhere to this vision. It appears to be completely fallacious.

As a matter of fact, I know how to remove a security tag. And that is due to my buying second hand pants that had them. They were gotten rid of because of a small defect and ended up in Tunisia. Always upskilling.
Almost half of people on this planet are trash according to a study I made myself. So this is better than expected.
Job alert for translators! @wasafirimag.bsky.social is seeking a UK-based Translator in Residence working with/in Endangered Languages. Applications are due February 15 - learn more at:
- Have you tried Moroccan/Tunisian Hammam?
- What's that?
- It's a traditional steam bath routine that involves scrubbing nearly every inch of your body to extract dead skin cells and impurities until you start glowing.
Sounds worrisome to me! Lol

The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll
Rest if you can.
We need you in the long term. 🌱

"I promised him I will be on time."
It is perfectly sound in Arabic. Past perfect is achieved through modal verbs and gives the impression of affected accuracy in modern standard Arabic (MSA), unlike in English and French where it has its fully fledged place in the language.
