Got a great look at mama great horned owl and her fluffy owlet. Look at how she holds her chick with her wing. I don't know what happened to her eye, if it's an injury or a birth defect, but clearly it doesn't prevent her from hunting.

I signed up for a biweekly painting course at a local art studio and it starts tomorrow 😍 I used to love painting in high school and burned out on art due to mental illness in my early 20s. I'm so excited to get back into it!

At the same time, I recognize the privilege around the cannabis industry. I recognize that certain chains (cough Uncle Ike's) occupy spaces where Black folks were once arrested for consuming or selling weed. I recognize that cannabis farmers aren't able to unionize. This all needs to change.

I am an avid cannabis user for many reasons. It broke me of my alcohol cravings. It regulates my anxiety and intrusive thoughts. I love going to my local unionized pot shop and talking to the budtenders who can help me find exactly what I need within my budget. No one should be jailed for weed.

Today's bear is 132! She has the honor of being the biggest sow in the Brooks River population. No one does it quite like 132. She's also a notorious pirate.
