Wow, these marathon Climate COPs are becoming more frequent in recent years, pretty much like the hottest years on record. "The Earth is one, but the world is not." (1987 Brundtland Report). #COP29Overtime #WhoPays? #RichCountriesMustPay
The image shows an overview of how much over time previous climate COPs have gone. COP 29 is already longer than COP 6, COP 13, COP 19, COP 18, COP 26, COP 24, and COP 21 (which ran 30:33 hours over time). The record was COP 25 in Madrid, which ran 43:55 hours longer than scheduled.
...and now #COP29 has already broken the record of many of the longest climate COPs, including COP 6, COP 13, COP 19, COP 18, COP 26, COP 24, and COP 21, which is when the #ParisAgreement was adopted and which ran 30:33 hours over time
