I know it's what I'm supposed to do, that is why I try to always do it and continue to adhere to this latest highway rule. My point is about the phone zombies who are unaware of their local environment and cross regardless of a vehicle already moving and occupying space that they then move into.

I always try to give right of way to pedestrians who are crossing, even to the phone zombies who cannot bear to look away from their screens who start crossing even after I am almost all the way around a junction. Pedestrians on their phones rather than their immediate environment are also a hazard

And when reversing

Some chippys use the paper to wrap the food that is printed to look like a newspaper. I think it was 40 odd years ago that actual newspaper stopped being used.
