Agreed-If it's a screenshot or something unique, I'll usually clarify. I've honestly gotten to where I try to describe the image (if it even has relevant content) in the surrounding text so I can just mark the image decorative and call it a day 🤪

NVDA is a free program you can download for testing

Nvda is a free software to download that's a little better than your computer's default program. JAWS is much better (and more expensive) but in my experience as a tester, NVDA gets it done 💪 and there are helpful YouTube videos and manuals to help you learn the basics!

If it's a graphic that you explain in surrounding text that's visible and available to everyone, you can also leave alt text blank then.

You dont want to say "picture of __" because the screen reader will already read "Image of__". If an image is decorative (e.g. logo, stock photo, something that doesn't add new content of information), you can mark it decorative or leave the alt text blank, depending on the program you're using...
