I had to leave for an event just minutes before this. The crowd was full of kids, elders, and dogs, all peaceful, marching with union banners. The plumes that I saw went up from a distance are just bonkers.
And this is why say ABOLISH. They are galvanizing the resistance with this violence.
I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

Just went to multi-union anti-ICE protest near Portland ICE building. Big crowd, mostly nurses, educators, SEIU workers, & families. Resolute but calm & peaceful. Big strong ICE men were scared & tear gassed us anyway. I'm ok but won't soon forget elderly folks & babies in distress. #ICEoutforGood
