After paying $1.8 million for Max.com, it’s back to HBO Max
Warner Bros. Discovery is ditching the Max name. Warner Bros. Discovery (NYSE: WBD) is changing the name of its Max streaming service. It's changing it to...wait for it...HBO Max. Yep, it's going back to its old name. The streaming…
Neocities. Remember Geocities? Well, Neocities is that again, pretty much. Build your freak-ass website with sparkle text, join Web rings etc. Glorious.

2024 in review: Domain Parking
There are storm clouds in parking, and this could impact the domain industry at large. You might be surprised that I'm discussing domain parking as a big topic in 2024. While I don’t write about parking much these days — given that most domain investors no longer…
Testing #SkyBridge to post to BlueSky from the Ivory Mastodon client.
#Hashtags have arrived on Bluesky. Please add the hashtag #hashtag to any of your posts with hashtags to allow other users to easily find them

Is BlueSky still relevant? Mastodon is my comfort place and I think it's the better platform. ActivityPub is a web standard, ATProtocol is not.
It’s actually not. Account details, follows, and following are completely separate lists. Yes, there is a link to threads profile on IG profile and vice versa, but that’s where the connection stops. Also, don’t forget it will soon work with ActivityPub-supported services like Mastodon and PeerTube.
We’re excited to share our first paid service!
We’re partnering with Namecheap to provide easy custom domain management. With this, you can easily set a custom domain as your Bluesky handle and much more.
Simply navigate to https://account.bsky.app to get started.
I talked to Instagram chief Adam Mosseri about Threads, a radical new social network where you can view more than 600 posts per day, totally free of charge https://www.platformer.news/p/meta-unspools-threads
The Gfycat service is being discontinued. Please save or delete your Gfycat content by visiting https://www.gfycat.com and logging in to your account. After September 1, 2023, all Gfycat content and data will be deleted from gfycat.com

To clarify:
1. Ice Cubes isn't the first to support Bluesky accounts via Skybridge
2. This doesn't enable "cross-posting". Instead, Ice Cubes lets you read, post, and reply to Bluesky content in a Mastodon client, as well as view Custom Feeds.
Comparing both clients on macOS desktop:
Ever use Discord? It's the same sort of thing. Lots of different instances, each with different rules.
There are third-party Mastodon directories. Just google "Mastodon server list".
There's a thing called a "Forgot Password" link.

Same way as Mastodon right?
This week Google released 8 new TLDs/extensions for the public to register:

Anyone plan on picking some up if you haven't already? Reply with what you got!
And pay a billion dollars like Google does every year to be the “default” search provider. 🙄
Not sure whether to continue using croc.io as my handle or use my other domain 404.page
I love them both haha
Ecosia is directly integrated into iOS as one of the default search engines that users can select in Safari settings. I think Apple has done its research.
Remember, the phones that used to be on planes were subsidized by SkyMall. They really expected people to pay $0.69 (nice!) a call to order weird shit on a plane. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airfone
