We had a wonderful time at the annual #HousingCommunitySummit, with @cihhousing.bsky.social, in Liverpool.
It was great to see the housing sector come together for two days of insightful debate and collaboration. A huge thank you to everyone that joined us there, and to all that made it possible.

Thanks to @yorkshirepost.co.uk for publishing my article with @trusselluk.bsky.social's new stats. No child should be held back by hunger, but too many grow up in severe hardship, blighting childhoods & with long term impacts on prospects in adulthood. www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/opinion...
A white and light gray bunny sits on a table beside a fruit "cake" with a yellow candle. The background shows a cityscape of white buildings under a cloudy sky.
I need to liven up on this app so I’ll restart by the amazing news that our teams at @cihhousing.bsky.social & @natfednews.bsky.social have been nominated for two awards for our event #HousingCommunitySummit! 🌟🥳🎉
This recognition is a testament to the incredible effort, passion and partnership 🏡
Haha this is the content I’m here for Niki
NEW ANALYSIS: One in five of people facing homelessness in England now have a disability or physical ill health. In 2019, it was one in eight households.
This is really worrying. 🧵

A scatter graph that shows children born in local authorities with the highest child poverty rates are expected to live less than those born in areas with the lowest rates. This graph specifically shows male life expectancy from birth and uses data from Loughborough University's child poverty rate estimates, and ONS life expectancy stats.
Children born in local authorities with the highest poverty rates are expected to live 5 years less than those born in areas with the lowest rates.
Being born into poverty could take years off your life.
This is not okay. ❌ 2/3

As part of the 16 days of action against domestic abuse. I’ve written a blog piece on how the incorporation of the right to adequate housing can provide safe and secure homes at the point they are needed most: cih.org/blogs/a-righ...
Is there anything better than that pre-decorations up house deep clean? 🧼 just me? 🥰🎄🏡
This moment in Bluesky is a great example of how joy itself can be defiance and resistance.
We are just hanging out, shitposting, being silly, happy, and normal. It is being treated as if it is transgressive, opting out of the endless negativity. Because in a way, it is.
Joy is my favorite weapon.
Reducing the huge number of social homes lost to the right to buy is a step forward. Building more social homes would actually start tackling the housing emergency. By next spring’s spending review we need to be seeing investment www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I write Awaab Ishak’s name a fair amount, due to talking about legislation and key events in the sector. Had a pause today while writing it to remember that he was a boy, a very young boy, who died as a direct result of the conditions of his home. We should remember him in how we act, law or no law.
Hello you! 🥰
This place already feels like a little slice of happiness in comparison to X! If heaven and hell were portrayed as social media platforms…
