A front end rebuild, 4 new wheels, new SRS system. 3 months of work, through cold weather, all kinds of holdups, and ignoring a lot of being told "it's not worth it".
32 years, 8 owners, 2 crashes, and she still runs like a dream.

First time seeing the Kintsugi paint repairs in the sun, super happy with how it turned out
And just like that, it's finished! Needs aligned and some bodywork for the rear end damage, but the Kintsugi Del Sol is gonna be roadworthy in the next week or so!!
Time flies, it's hard to believe it was immobile and in pieces just a month ago...

Being my own mechanic and paying costs for parts to repair a lightly flogged hooptie I love is infinitely better than overpaying for a souless modern car I'd hate. Gives stories to tell as well!
Will do! Also yanked the battery as soon as I got the old lemon home, and everything's unplugged. Just working on fixing mechanical failures/problems before I do the airbags.
Thankfully I'm working on an oldie! All the sensors/triggers are in the control unit itself by my research, just need to replace the unit and bags and it should be just fine.
85% done with the Driver's side rebuild. At this rate, the raggedy old turd just might be at #mcfc!
All that's left is some body work, tires, airbags, and then she'll be rocking and rolling again >:3
Driving 2 hours to buy new airbags only to find out they are the wrong model for my car was not on today's bingo card, shit
No fear quite like the one you feel realizing you have to play hit potato with ~31 year old airbags in a few days
