Good to see the government learning lessons from yesterday's by-election defeat...
Ah yes, because it went so well last time didn't it...
I think we're heading for the hungest of hung parliaments.
Reform are down in the polls compared to a few months ago, do you know which party they're losing voters to?
I mean, maybe the pendulum will swing back towards them eventually but I don't see that happening in the next 3 years.
I really don't see how they win back the red wall reform voter types, and their traditional small c conservative base has gone to the lib Dems, so how are they going to win?
Would love a modern day equivalent. A group of friends living through Brexit, COVID, Truss, Ukraine war etc...
My absolute favourite taproom of all time - went on Xmas Eve and was pleased to see it packed out. Will try and get there a few times this year if I can.
Catastrophic for Labour, what a wasted 12 months.
You can either slash immigration massively, or you can be a government aimed at driving growth. You can't be both.
Egos so massive they'd rather entertain this nonsense than just join the Greens...
Not sure they're that comparable? Khan is on the soft left and fairly well established within the party leadership. Mamdani seen as more of an outsider and an outright socialist, something which is far more demonised in the U.S. so I'd say it's a significant victory.
Correct, seen various comments on here saying why don't Starmer/Reeves just reverse it and rejoin, like the EU can't see Farage waiting in the wings and just instantly want to reopen negotiations with us.
Does anyone know if any UK government has had a worse approval rating than this?
The Dear Hunter
He's right though. Him and Lewis Goodall have both criticised Starmer for this.
How likely do you think it is that the Lib Dems will become official opposition next time?
Sorry what does he mean by 'republican front '? Cheers.
Reform recently won a load of councils and is currently around 30% in the polls. Your Party has imploded before they've even officially launched.
More so than Your Party are, yes.
Genuine question: why are the left so bad at organising themselves whereas the right seem to have got their act together?

When was the last time a politician had a net positive score?
There's no obvious successor though which is why I think he's safe for now.
Yes definitely. But I'm still hoping the penny will eventually drop...
Relies on Labour gaining back progressive voters and the Tories returning to appealing to Lib Dem sympathetic middle England. Not an impossible possibility but not looking hugely likely right now.
It's wild how much that show got right
Not sure it would be a great look though.
