only just realised it's a chain! Daft name for one pub let alone a franchise. I used to live near one about 20 years ago at *location redacted* and accidentally (ok a prank went wrong) went home with the huge key to their safe one night. I returned it the next day and have never been more sheepish

Broadcasters and press have a responsibility to our communities - and repeatedly centring exceptional negative cases while ignoring the overwhelming reality — people/families building lives, survivors seeking safety, communities contributing economically and socially — distorts public understanding.

Death trip - filmmaker Paul Duane on his Irish folk horror movie Filmmaker and occasional RTÉ Culture contributor Paul Duane introduces his hew folk horror movie All You Need Is Death, which hits Irish cinemas this weekend.

what a great shout. Just got around to watching this, thought it was wonderful - unique and unsettling and committed.

The director talks about his experience making it in this RTE piece and now I'm even more impressed. More "weird & confusing" films please, Paul! www.rte.ie/culture/2024...

I had hopes that a Labour govt would make settling in the country I was born in easier and/or more affordable for us than under the Tories, but it seems they have other ideas

Thread. Please read - this deeply unfair & expensive policy affects families like mine

Solidarity with and 👏 to everyone attending this today.

I'm over here in DE hoping some of this message gets through to Starmer & co, so I and my non-UK family can move to the UK 🤞 and attend a future march.

(Shocking that marches against the far right are needed in 2026/7/8/? anyway)

‘We can’t go back’: mother of six-year-old cancer survivor fears UK visa changes Woman, from Togo, faces uncertain wait for indefinite leave to remain because of changes coming into force next month

A 6-year-old cancer survivor at Great Ormond Street Hospital could lose vital care due to the Government’s “earned settlement” changes.

The Home Office reduces lives to numbers, ignoring health and safety.

MPs must stop these cruel, dehumanising reforms.

Watched Sirāt. An incredible cinematic experience, knocked me sideways like no other film for some time. Recommend going in with as little knowledge of the plot/subject matter as possible

incredibly Partridge. Keep walking past all the presidents and there'll be some sort of dig at Noel Edmonds (on a plaque)

had some decent nights out there until discovering a better pub just down the road. Xmas lunch one year too, our table was right next to the bogs. That was probably the final straw

it's not too bad, aye. I used to work in a shop nearby. The boss was an absolute state and used to buy unwanted rounds of Aftershock (yikes). Once he fell down that long staircase leading to the bogs and a part of him hit every single step on the way. Time stood still. Great days

50(!) years today since Bruce & The E Street Band's first show at the Hammersmith Odeon.

Great clip, though this show's '...Saint In The City' is even better, partly because Bruce dedicated the song to me ❤️
