if it doesn't end up applying to foreign workers, what about the studio that's seeking out these VAs? the VAs are signing these contracts with Sound Cadence (based in USA), mihoyo hired em for that, and when the whole VA mess was happening they stated their contracts have AI protections

miHoYo is the one that develops these games, it's based in China, and they have to abide by the AI law that forbids them from creating it. Hoyoverse is based in Singapore, and they're the GLOBAL GAME PUBLISHERS- NOT DEVS- so their games have a worldwide reach.

Chinese laws SHOULD be put in place, after all, the name behind it all is still miHoYo, Hoyoverse is the global game publisher. why would it not apply to foreign workers if the one they're working for is based in China?

and yet they're trying to fight against a company... that already has these protections set in stone, because they HAVE to in China, and Hoyo has an agency seeking out these VAs who have these protections as well.

this argument falls apart the moment you realize SAG-AFTRA's official account retweeted a post by one of their actors, and literally tagging Hoyo's 3 biggest games. and once again, if they're trying to negotiate against the use of AI why did they make a deal with an AI company?

these are the only parties being striked, I don't see Hoyoverse's name in it. yeah y'know what else unions can do? get too big to the point they want more benefits than they should and grow corrupt. besides, didn't SAG-AFTRA signed a deal with an AI company? the thing they're striking against?
