FBI agent Denise played by David Duchovny and Dale Cooper, played by Kyle Maclachlan, Twin Peaks 1990

David Duchovny played a transgender woman, Denise, on Twin Peaks in 1990 and when greeting Cooper, the show's protagonist, she says, "I prefer Denise, if you don't mind" and Cooper responds with "OK" and her identity is settled within a couple seconds and was a non-issue, 36 years ago.

I daily check for new horror films on streaming. In The Room Where He Waits came up on Hoopla yesterday, and I can't tell you how much this movie blew my socks off. It's basically one man quarantined in a haunted hotel room, but it's SO much deeper than that. Great performance, highly recommend it!

If Sinners came out in the 90s there would be an SNES and Genesis game that would be made by totally different developers. The Genesis version youd play as Smoke and you’d have a gun and in the SNES version you play as Preacherboy and you fight vampires with your guitar

An Edward Gorey drawing showing a morose looking black bird on a branch. He (and this feels very much like a he) is pointing downwards with one scraggly wing, and looking straight ahead with debt-filled eyes. His beak is long and sharp, like winter on the Great Plains. He is pointing with his right wing, but this means he is pointing to your left. Your wicked, sinister side. This is no accident. The Bird makes no such mistakes. But he is talking, and the text tells us that he is saying, "Beware of this and that."

Honestly, you feel his message in your bones.

Some days I just feel like this Edward Gorey bird gets it.

Clive Barker's Jacqueline Ess optioned The short horror story adaptation is being executive produced by Barker.

Almost missed this, “Jacqueline Ess” from Barker’s Books of Blood got optioned! By a company involved with “Hundreds of Beavers” and “Malum”!

@ravenbannerent.bsky.social , if you want a Nicholl QF / Barker fan to take a wack at the first draft, I’m available. 👍🏻

To any Democrat who ever said about any issue, "Maybe if we agree with Republicans just this far, they'll stop there," remember that you were wrong, it was obvious at the time, and you really should never believe that again about any issue, ever.

I'm sure someone else has said it, but I keep thinking about that video where the Phantom soundtrack is playing so loud at the White House you could hear it from the street, and that then Trump has a sore throat at a presser a day later. It was the old turn-up-the-music trick to cover up yelling.

A digital ink drawing of a smiling raven sitting a top a neglected gravestone that reads, "Piss on their grave." On the grave is an hourglass with wings, with a wet pee stain running down the surface of the stone.

Just a little vent art.

Is Portland Burning? No. See real-time Portland cameras, PulsePoint incidents, and sourced fact checks.

While all of my friends & acquaintances know that Portland, Oregon is not in fact on fire, I have had several conversations with friends asking why anyone would THINK it is in the first place.

Kristi Noem is in PDX today.
She brings the cameras w/ her and is desperate to incite Americans to do things she can film and edit into propaganda vids.
Do not give her what she wants.
The regime is frantic to manufacture a riot. Do not give them what they want.

Today in #Portland I went to the Farmer's Market and bought a box full of vegetables, had a picnic lunch with my partner at Mt Tabor park, bought a fresh loaf of bread at the bakery, and rented blu-rays from Movie Madness. It's a beautiful day and folks are just enjoying the sunshine.

A drawing of Kathy from the comic strip Kathy (a white woman with brown hair and droopy eyes) dressed in a gown with puffy sleeves standing next to Heathcliff the orange cat from the comic strip Heathcliff. Heathcliff is wearing a black waistcoat. They’re standing against a foggy background with trees and red outlined letters say Wuthering Heights, an homage to the poster for the new Emerald Fennel film adaptation of the 19th century novel. Smaller black text above has the author’s name, Charlotte Brontë.

The thing about being an artist is that sometimes you’ll have a really silly/cursed image enter your head and spend hours of your life drawing it. Hours you’ll never get back.
