Third time’s a charm with these Mark Cameron studies! 🖋️
This time I studied his take on Yamato from one Piece (seriously, go check him out: linktr.ee/cameronmark) was a blast.
Sticking with the ink for this one because it just feels right for that bold, anime-inspired energy. It’s been so helpful t

Back to the ink, but still channeling that Mark Cameron inspiration. 🖋️✨
This time, itis a study of Reyna from Valorant. I’ve always loved her design, but trying to capture her through the lens of Mark’s specific style (seriously, check out his work: linktr.ee/cameronmark) was such a fun challenge.
Switching things up a bit! ✏️✨
Today’s session was all about slowing down and diving into a pencil study. I’ve been obsessed with the way Mark Cameron (check out his work: linktr.ee/cameronmark) handles form and character.
Found a reference that I just couldn't ignore, so I had to do a quick, rough ink study of it. I’m not sure who the original artist is, but the pose/vibe was way too good not to try out with her.
Eve, part two. 🖋️✨
Decided to slow down a bit and give her a more polished look. I really wanted to capture her profile and get those ink details right this time. It’s funny how a character starts feeling "real" once you actually take the time to clean up the lines.
I definetly like her aesthetic.
Just clearing my head and letting the ink do its thing. 🖋️✨
This is Eve. She’s been living rent-free in my head for a while now, so I finally had to get her down on paper. It’s a super rough one, but there’s something about her vibe that I’m really feeling.
Did a quick drawing of Becca from Cyberpunk ✍️
Full transparency: this is a straight copy of a Pinterest reference I found, and it didn’t have a source attached. If anyone knows who the original artist/photographer is, please tell me so I can credit them properly (and I’ll update the post).
Another sketch ✍️
This one’s based on a photo reference—I’m trying to get better at proportions and not “inventing” faces halfway through 😅 Kept it pretty loose.
Back to sketching for a bit ✍️
After painting nonstop and living in color land, I needed a little reset… so I grabbed my sketchbook and just started drawing again. No pressure, no palette, just lines and vibes. This one was based on a photo reference.
Feels good to switch gears.
Another acrylic painting done 🎨
This time I actually slowed down and spent way more time on it, and I really tried to double down on what I’ve been learning lately.
It felt good to take it seriously and push it a bit further. Still stuff to improve obviously, but I can see the progress
Just finished another acrylic painting — and this one’s special because it’s the last exercise from Hashim Akib’s book 🎨
I’m not even gonna lie, I feel like I learned *a lot* working through these.
Tried a self portrait in my new acrylic style 🎨
I feel like I’ve got enough confidence with this looser approach now, so I finally went for it. And honestly… it actually resembles me pretty well?? Which I guess is the whole point of a self portrait 😂
New acrylic piece ✨
This time I went for a full body woman, still keeping that looser, more expressive vibe. I also told myself I wasn’t gonna spend forever on it… which you can 100% see in the feet 😅
But honestly? This is the first one in this series that I’m *really* happy with.
Jumped into a DTIYS painting from @leandrocruzes 🎨
I loved the original, so I had to put my own spin on it—kept the main vibe but pushed it more in my style . Super fun one to paint.
Go check out the hashtag and the other entries too, there are some crazy good takes on it.

Third acrylic painting in this new direction 🎨
This one’s a girl portrait, and I’m honestly really into where things are going with this style—looser strokes, more color, less “perfect edges” brain.
The face is still a bit weird (lol) but that’s the point right now… I will just keep practicing
Second acrylic painting in this looser style 🎨
This time I went full color, kept the brushwork more expressive, and tried not to overthink it. I actually really like how it’s coming together… but I can’t lie, the eyes look kinda weird 😅
First acrylic portrait I’ve done in a more expressive style 🎨
I tried to loosen up on this one—bigger brushstrokes, less measuring, more “just paint and see what happens.” It’s a totally different vibe from my usual clean/flat stuff, and honestly it felt really good to not obsess over every detail.
Jinx series — FINAL (process flip) 📚
This post has *all* the stages so you can flip through from sketch → inks → flats → finished + framed.
Real talk: this was wayyyyy too much work 😅 The super flat, super precise, clean-edged style looks cool, but it takes so much patience.
Jinx series — FINAL ✨
It’s done done. Finished the painting, cleaned up the last details, and got it framed 🙌 The flare scene finally has the glow and contrast I was chasing from the first sketch, and seeing it in a frame makes it feel *real*.
Thanks for sticking with it—this one was a ride.
Jinx series — post 4 🎨
Flat colors are all in now, and yep… I lit the photo all dramatic again because the vibe demands it 😅
This is basically the ugly stage where everything looks a little weird, but it’s finally starting to read. We’re *almost* there.
Jinx series — post 3 🎨
Tiny bit of progress this time, but we’re officially in paint mode. I started laying in color and dropped in the first hits of blue—already changing the whole mood and pushing that flare contrast.
Next step is building up the rest of the palette.
Jinx series — post 2 ✍️🔥
Inking stage is officially done. I tightened up the sketch, cleaned the shapes, and locked in all the big lighting cues before I start throwing paint around. The photo’s lit all dramatic again because I’m trying to keep that flare-scene vibe from start to finish.
Started a new painting project and I’m going BIG for this one 👀
I’m painting the iconic flare scene from *Arcane* on a huge sheet of paper, and this is just the sketch stage. I lit the photo a little dramatic because the whole scene is basically mood + light and I’m trying to keep that energy.
Went bigger on this one 👀
Just finished an acrylic painting of a contemporary ninja woman, and I decided to scale up to A3. Keeping the flat, cel‑shaded look at this size was a fun challenge, but I’m really happy with how clean the shapes and shadows turned out.
Second gouache painting done ✌️
This time I did a study of a piece by Pernille Orum, and it turned out *way* better than my first try—especially the flat colors. Gouache is honestly so satisfying once it starts behaving.
You can find her work here: pernilleoe.com/
Got a fresh set of gouache for Christmas, so of course I had to test them out immediately 😅🎨
Did a little portrait study of Maelle from *Expedition 33* and I like how creamy these paints are. Still getting used to gouache (it dries a little different than I expect).
Jumped into the #jarlteeart3 “draw this in your style” challenge on Instagram and had to take a swing at the character Kageri 🙌
I kept the vibe but did it in my own style—played around with the shapes, and had a lot of fun making the design simpler.
New WIP ✍️
Been drawing with Arrtx acrylic markers and I’m really feeling the render so far… but I’m totally stuck on the background. Clean + minimal? Gradient? Pattern? Full scene?
Also not sure I’ll even finish this one, but posting it anyway.
