The NPV is a clever idea that would be DISASTROUS in practice. Not because electing by popular vote is a problem, but because the NPV needs for each state to trust all others' process. Should California send its votes to the Republican because of vote suppression in Wisconsin? It'd be a mess.

EFF stays on social platforms they don't endorse and have strong criticisms of, because other people on those platforms need what EFF offers. But they're leaving Twitter because it's no longer relevant or impactful - because most people have left and they don't think it's worth the trouble anymore.

What's galling is that they are automating this, while still requiring us to fill out our own tax returns when the government could automate that for most people - it's also legally required!
And those IDs they want to require for voting - why won't they send an ID to every legal voter, for free?

Since registering has already been legally required since the 1940s at least, this change that just does it for you rather than punishing you if you don't do it by hand, seems good to me. Regardless of how you feel about the requirement to register, which is not changing.
