I am forever saying that if refusal isn't a live option in any decision making process about "AI", then no ethical practice is possible. You've got to be able to stop if the thing is unacceptable.

It's also worth being clear about who's doing the arguing. Palantir sells operational software to defence, intelligence, immigration & police agencies. These 22 points aren't philosophy floating in space, they're the public ideology of a company whose revenue depends on the politics it's advocating.

‼️ Lest we forget, it’s not just Hungary that’s fighting for its European future. The good people of Georgia 🇬🇪 have completed their 500th consecutive day of nationwide #GeorgiaProtests against their own Russian-backed illegitimate (via rigged elections) regime.

Damn. Iran just dropped an A+ level troll on Trump in this new LEGO movie.
I’m no fan of Iran at all… but this one actually nails him. 😂😂
Melania: this government will not pursue the Epstein perpetrators, but we will pressure their victims to give public testimony about the crimes inflicted upon them in a venue with no jurisdiction so they can be harassed and threatened into hiding just like Christine Blasey Ford.
I think I speak for everyone in Europe when I say that it’s a huge relief to be able to go to bed now.
“A chatbot did not kill those children. People failed to update a database, and other people built a system fast enough to make that failure lethal.”
Maven, the program Google was forced to pull out of and Palantir took over, was the system that identified the girls’ school as a target.

What is marketed as AI “innovation” is, in practice, a consolidation of global labor hierarchies and a commodification of African knowledge, write Marché Arends and Kathryn Cleary, drawing on their year-long investigation supported by the Pulitzer Center and published by Africa Uncensored.
Most of this week I’ve spent trying to find data center campuses of over 100mw that are actually anywhere near being built and the answer is that most are not, and several large projects effectively don’t exist. I’m not sure people understand how few of them are actually indeed construction.
this is the fourth time a company has said they'd either send openai billions or get openai to send them billions that's never actually come through - AMD's 6GW of data centers, SK Hynix/Samsung's 900k of DRAM wafers, NVIDIA's $100bn, and Broadcom's 10GW - none of them are real!
We’re tracking 190GW across 777 large data centers and AI factories (>50MW) announced since 2024. At least 16GW of capacity is slated to come online in 2026 across roughly 140 projects. Yet only about 5GW is currently under construction. Around 11GW remains in the announced stage with no visible construction progress, despite typical build timelines of 12–18 months.
No, really!

Me to Claude : are you bossy? Claude replies : I can be direct and confident in my responses, which some people might interpret as bossy. I tend to give clear guidence when asked for help and don't hedge excessively when I have relevant knowledge to share. Whether that comes across as bossy probably depends on the context and your preferences. In technical discussions I'm fairly assertive about best practices. In creative work I'll make specific suggestions rather than saying "it's up to you". I aim to be helpful rather than domineering but I recognise that the line between being decisively helpful and being pushy can vary from person to person. If my directness doesn't work well for you, I can adjust my approach. Me to Claude : that was bossy. are you bossy? Claude replies : Yes, I am bossy.

Despite its growth-including on the social media platforms X (Twitter), Telegram, the Russian-based VK, and Bluesky-the network remains user-unfriendly across all domains and subdomains. For example, it has no search function, a generic navigation menu, and dysfunctional scrolling on many sites and pages. Webpage layout issues and obvious mistranslations persist on the network's sites as well, contributing to appearances that the network is not primarily intended for human consumption. Given what appears to be its small human audience and the massive footprint of the network, we believe the network isn't targeting humans, but an automated audience: web crawlers involved with search engine optimization and scraping algorithms that collect data for training datasets such as those used for large language models. This targeting strategy is a stark departure from other pro-Russia information operations, and one with serious social, political, and technological consequences for the world.
Tricking AI chatbots by lying about hot dogs sounds fun! Now read about a Russian operation with an annual publishing rate of at least 3.6 million pro-Russia articles. It is not designed for access by human eyes which implies it is there to influence AI chatbots
