Hello, yes, hi, it is me, the freaks and the perverts, observing respectfully.

In retrospect, I don't regret it. There's a lot of good reasons not to post this piecemeal. Imagining what everyone will think of it when it's done is motivation enough to keep me going.

I just wish I could arrive at that point faster.

When I made the decision to write a novel, I knew it would be a totally different beast from what I'm used to. I didn't realize just how hard it would be, though, going without those regular dopamine hits you get from posting each chapter as it's completed. I'm not built for delayed gratification.

And just like that, it was Taco Tuesday.

That post is the exact moment I return to whenever I hear his name. It was one of the most inoffensive, self-reflective statements about a personal preference, and he not only warped it into an attack on his identity, he doubled down.
