Whee! The "Flush" spell poisons enemies. The "Rubidium Wand" relic explodes wet enemies when they take damage. That then creates a burst of steam from the player, because they are also wet. Follow-on damage from free mana on kills (from the "Kintsugi Mug" relic) causes the Choke Drone to explode.
