I guess that's my main point of criticism. If the working class are in such a position of power to ask for concessions like land reform, why not go all the way? Why not abolish the exploitation of labour by Capitalists altogether?

Rather than furthering a system of capitalist accumulation.

Georgists seem cool, but like, what would georgism really change?

If business owners can still extract a profit from the labour of a working class, and those working class people have no control over their industry, then the main contention with capitalism stays the same.

💯💯, cheers legend. I like what the og poster is saying, but sometimes I do be a little bit too serious, and I'm self conscious about that lmao

I appreciate some pushback on the whole 'war & expansionism is a distraction from the files', but perhaps both are just the end result of exploitative class relations. Like, they don't have to be strategic, just both the end result of capitalism. I could also be taking this too seriously.

The Ayatollah has been killed in an Israeli strike. A US-backed replacement is likely to be imposed. Khamenei wasn't a leftist; his government destroyed the Tudeh Party and suppressed working-class organizing. But instability and imperialist governance will mean pain for the Iranian people.

The reality of revolution is that it can only be done by applying pressure to the industries that a capitalist economy relies on. Students are enthusiastic, and I can appreciate that, but they don't hold any industrial power

I shouldn't be paying this much attention to US politics, but Walz said on a podcast recently that he thinks the way ICE is conducting themselves is too brazen. Not that they're bad, just that they're doing what they're doing too loudly 😐

I think my biggest annoyance is that it's so vibes based. Marxism is an economic application, and everything that it stands for stems from how it changes the relationship of the working class to the means of production. At any time I could be partisan, I could be revolutionary. whatever is needed

The graphs and sliding-scale ideology measurers are fun, but when applied to marxism, kinda miss the point. We either care about surplus value extraction from the working class, the accumulation of wealth, or we don't. Internationalism, progressiveness, partisan-ness; it's all empathy for workers

Everytime something like this happens we have a surge of new leftist influencers. And then as the shortcomings of these bourgeoisie politicians become apparent, the old guard lose their relevancy and a new crop of better, more theoretically grounded influencers rise

Most of his ecological activism comes down to blaming other nations for overpopulation, and not the inefficiency of capitalist consumption.

Guide to Marxist Economics - YouTube

If anybody's looking for a lightweight introduction to Marx's toughest concepts, I highly recommend FinBol's reading of Political Economy, 1954. Perfect to listen to while you're chowing down on a Smash barm pea wet.

Calling for unity is admirable, but some socialists don't hold the interests of the working class to heart. For example, Yugoslavia; Tito and the LCY introduced market competition, resulting in unemployment, and then liquidated Marxist-Leninists who criticised these moves. Marxism is a science.

Same over in Aus, I think we have the highest landlordship rates in the world. Like 10% of our population. Plus so much of our savings are, by default, tied up in the stock market. They don't make it easy ☠️

How tf does theFinnishBolshevik create a 10 part series on revisionism in Soviet urban planning. I want to do whatever drugs that guy is doing.

The stock market, through it's inherent structure, is an extraction of surplus value from the working class. Profits don't materialise out of thin air.

The most conservative people I know are generally well off; our managers, business owners & investors. People who want to further the capitalist system, distract us from revolution. The narrative that conservatives are overwhelmingly 'poor' is capitalist propaganda meant to divide the working class.

a bald man in a plaid shirt and vest ALT: a bald man in a plaid shirt and vest

I just spent half the day debating a relatively large ML creator on TikTok, only to notice they seemed to be using ChatGPT. I asked them if they were, and they flat out said yes, but that the points it made were still legitimate.

What are we doing?

Posting porky memes is the start of a radicalising pipeline. One day you're posting memes on the internet, and the next you're commiting extremist acts against these innocent trotters 😥
