Start with the easiest win. Completing Wellington's popular bike lane network would enable more people to get around by bike and avoid high fuel costs. Let's do this. @cyclewgtn.bsky.social

Labour councillors told us climate change demands urgent action. Now that bike lanes are at risk, we must remind them of that promise.

Cycling is under attack. Wellington City Council is moving to give up on building out much of the emerging #bike network, and other critical #climateAction work. We need to keep them on the right path.

We trust that our current leaders in council work to expose this disinformation for what it is and demonstrate their commitment to making Pōneke the great cycling city it is becoming.

Some groups have been attempting to push the false narrative that the disastrous situation with wastewater at Moa Point is in some way connected to Wellington’s excellent recent work to roll out better and safer cycling facilities.
We also expect our leaders to persevere with making our streets safer for everyone to get around our city in healthy ways. We don’t need to choose between safe water and safe ways of getting around. We need both.
Like all Wellingtonians, we're dismayed by the situation the Moa Point failure has created. We trust that our leaders will work to identify the true causes behind this failure and deliver solutions that ensure this doesn’t happen again.

We are calling on Wellington City Council, Waka Kotahi, and KiwiRail to improve the shared path on Old Hutt Road. People who will be using the soon to open Te Ara Tupua path need a safe and attractive continuation of this soon to be iconic seaside path.

Wouldn't it be nice to have... more folks cycling to play weekend sports. Vote For Bikes. Cycling Action Network Pae te haere mā Pahikara. Image shows a netball hoop, a rugby ball, a soccer ball, and cricket stumps. There's a Childs bike and another bike with a 'voting tick' coming out of the front wheel.
That #CyclingMagic - jump on the bike, head to the game, and you're warmed up! And it's a great way for kids to head to the soccer, or rugby, or swimming!
With about 7,500 sports clubs across the motu, there's lots of opportunities to #CycleToTheGame !

Words say "Wouldn't it be nice to have... comfortable, safe space to enjoy that cycling magic" with "Vote For Bikes, Cycling Action Network, Pae te haere maa pahikara". and an image of a stylised bike with a voting tick coming out of the front wheel, and a smaller kids bike behind. There is a traffic sign saying 'bike lane'. There is a large faded question mark in the background.
Grabbing a water bottle, she unlocked the bike, and set off down the drive. The clouds scudded across the sky, the wind was fresh, and she noticed the new spring growth. She breathed deeply, and there it was again - that old cycling magic; it never failed to arrive.
