“Ha, very funny.” Following that heavy sarcasm, she stepped sideways of Isaac for a clear runway. Her legs braced, she broke into a run for a few seconds, and then began to slide.

Only to pass over a particularly scuffed bit of floor in need of waxing. With too much friction, she fell face-first.

“Sorry, grump. I wasn’t aware you were recently promoted to the Fun Director.” She’s straightening out her pajamas, and is already looking past Isaac to make sure there were no more obstacles for when she resumed sliding.

Taking his his hand, Aniela pulled herself to her feet with a quiet huff. “But that’s no fun, is it?”

Meanwhile, the collision knocked Aniela flat on her back. She was still wearing her pajamas, which were white with neon pink flamingos all over.

“Ow.”

Sliding down the hall in her socks, right up until she crashed into somebody unexpectedly rounded the corner.

“What, this?” Secure on her feet again, she lifted the datapad and gave it a little jostle. “I wish. Just going over the performances of a new batch of fours.”

“Yeah, I…” She managed to look up from her datapad long enough to see who she had collided with. Color her embarrassed. “I’m fine.”

But she will accept his help in getting to her feet.

So focused on reading the text on her datapad, that she marched straight into the reader and knocked herself over.
