Idk if ā€œI probably killed no more than a dozenā€ refers to blocking/deleting stupid comments but I choose to believe it’s just Ebert being really fucking funny

Let’s say your farewell to @tonemadison.bsky.social is salty because you were accustomed to a nonstop approval enema in Madison and noticed that we, one fucking exception, didn’t line up eagerly with bulb and bucket. That was the point! No apologies to you or your pampered fundament 😘

Really appreciate this given how many media people who should know better have drunk the AI-inevitability Kool-Aid. It really doesn’t have many uses for journalists except for embarrassing oneself. "I’ve always hated the zero-to-one process of writing a story.ā€ Join the club, welcome to hell, etc.

Good Ones, a Newsletter from Jesse Raub a weekly-ish medium-dive into tv, movies, music, and food

Or how about @jesseraub.online's anachronistic, generous, and often very personal writing about food and movies? He’s got a newsletter called Good Ones and I happen to think it’s delightful

We cannot take Flock or client police agencies at their word about who does or doesn’t have access to certain data, given the security problems and abuse we already know about. Keep the pressure on. Get rid of this shit entirely

Once again it’s completely nonsensical that UW-Madison PD’s spokesperson won’t disclose the locations of Flock cameras. The map I’m sharing here is literally a file that UWPD will send people in response to open records requests about this. What are you doing, UWPD? Do you even know?

1 month ago 6 0 0 1

Having filed my share of open records requests I… was gonna say something smart-assed about ā€œwell here’s how it worksā€ but on second thought you are right. There should be accessible public repositories of all this stuff, with requests as a backup mechanism

A reporter asked for body-camera footage. UW-Madison police threatened her with a fine. A hands-on encounter with Wisconsin’s newest and most troublesome open-records law.

Police in general love to play fast and loose with public records laws and make up their own arbitrary nonsense rules about disclosure. UWPD can at times be really shitty, even when one grades on that curve:
