Ed Miliband has said he'll “double down, not back down” on government’s clean energy mission in the face of critics calling on him to change course

The Energy Sec said "solar panels, heat pumps and EVs are not woke, or a left-wing conspiracy, or even a Marxist plot. They're actually common sense"

"Should he undergo vetting?"

"Yes. Of course he should."

"That was a live debate ...".

Which means abolishing the electoral college and instuting one person one vote.

The crap they're publishing isn't just aimed at the MPs or public, a lot of the poison is targeted to inflame those on the left. That alone convinces me it's not the usual anti-labour journalism, it's the owners' political aims coming to the fore.

I'm used to Labour getting a raw deal from the media. I expect it.

But what's happening to Starmer is different level. It's more intense, more sustained and more deliberate. Any excuse large or small. Wave after wave.

If they can't pin him with something they want him to quit out of exhaustion.

Indeed. Why would you do either?

I admire your faith. But religion isn't enough.

You need a fact based case that showed Scots would be better off with "independence".

But you don't have it. It doesn't exist.

What are the bookies’ odds on these good news stories being covered on the BBC, Sky, C4 or ITN news channels?

I suspect it’s worse than 100 to 1

It's difficult to respond when people trivialise tragedies.

Not to be seen on the BBC TV News, doesn’t suit their agenda .

Also not to be seen in the Telegraph, Express, Mail, Sun, etc.

And nowadays not in the Guardian either.

#Starmer. Far from perfect. Not all that we hoped - so far.

Better than last 5 PMs? By a long shot.

Better than the millionaire -supporting charlatans leading the Tories / Reform? By miles.

Right Media refuse to highlight what this Govt has ACTUALLY DONE. So I shall.

Saw that. And Thornberry scolding him for all these meetings and discussions and decisions with very few/no notes or minutes.

Good. It’s easy to forget that climate change denial & shilling for fossil fuel companies provided a template for Tufton Street, Brexit & pretty much every egregious example of persuading populations to vote against their own interests. The story of Don Pearlman should be taught in kindergartens…

The Brits appear ready to shame the US news media into covering this, distracted as they are by gazing at their own navels ...

Listening to Olly Robbins being questions by Emily Thornberry this morning, a few things stand out:

1) Robbins was the decision maker to give security clearance to Mandelson despite the vetting recommending it not be given. He alone made that decision, discussed with no one more senior.

@pippacrerar.bsky.social Anyway. In other news that you seem to be incapable of even mentioning because NOT STARMER take a look at this list of horror. You may want to sit down when reading it. It’s looooooong. @dailyherald.bsky.social has done all the hard work because MSM don’t.

Because they are determined to get him for something.

It's about building a narrative that eases him out. His successor will then be immediately labelled as "having no mandate", and it will all start again until the Labour government falls and the vested interests finally get their man into No10.

A lot of people spent days going "OMG OMG OMG popcorn at the ready SiR kEiTh obvs lying; Olly Robbins has the receipts". Now they're like "too clever to get caught, they did it with VIBEZ."

From "Starmer is really bad at politics" straight to "Starmer is Machiavelli reincarnated" - like every week.

It's not really that extraordinary.

If you keep hammering away at a structure you will eventually find weaknesses.

If at first you don't find any weaknesses a continued assault will eventually create weaknesses.

The press is determined to find or create a story.

It's a disgrace.

He shouldn't have to spend time and effort on seeing off the press. He needs all his energies for his job. Can't they see thar? Press and media seem hell bent on bringing him down. Have very low opinion of much of the press.

The media's day has been ruined by Olly Robbins, he didn't contradict anything Starmer said yesterday. The rest of the day and probably all bloody week will be filled with the media desperately trying to keep this b*llocks alive until polling day.

Johnson overrode advice about appointing the son of a KGB officer into the Lords.

Nothing from the media. Not a whisper.

Starmer doesn’t override advice

Media storm and a hounding of epic proportions.
