US style VAR would be awful. Its been awful in football. Football is not a US game that stops and starts continuously allowing for VAR to halt a game easily. Football is NOT that. VAR disrupts football and has added very little. Refs with or w/o video will always make mistakes-they are humans.

My wife's favorite Nat. Park. Memories for a lifetime when we did that hike. Simply stunning.

A broad, still expanse of water fills the foreground, so clear that the lakebed—small rounded stones in muted grays and browns—shows through beneath a thin veil of reflected sky. The surface is nearly motionless, acting as a mirror for the dawn above.

At the horizon, the lake narrows into a distant valley framed by layered mountain ridges. The mountains rise on both sides in dark, cool silhouettes—deep blue to charcoal—softened by early light and atmospheric haze. On the left, a dense forest of conifers forms a continuous, shadowed edge that slopes gently into the water; on the right, the mountain face is steeper, its contours more pronounced but still subdued in the low light.

The sky is the focal point. A scattered field of mid-level clouds stretches across it, each cloud catching the first light of sunrise. Colors transition from pale gold and peach near the horizon to cooler blues and soft grays higher up. The brightest band sits just above the distant valley, where the sun—still hidden—pushes a warm glow outward, illuminating the undersides of the clouds.

This light is duplicated almost perfectly in the lake’s reflection, forming a symmetrical composition: sky above, sky below, divided by a thin, horizontal line of brighter water near the center. The reflection is slightly softened by faint ripples, but remains remarkably crisp.

Clear and obvious head butt from Gabriel. No red card. Until the EPL takes refereeing seriously they will continue to be this clown show.

I was delighted to hear the "sweet-sweet-I'm-so-sweet" song of the Northern Yellow Warbler in my backyard marsh yesterday. Two of them were singing; perhaps they having a sing-off to see who gets to nest in the area.

England fans facing hugely inflated prices to get to New Jersey's MetLife Stadium for World Cup games The cost of getting the train from New York to the venue, where the Three Lions play Panama in their final group game, will be £111 - nearly 12 times the usual fare.

Quite frankly anyone travelling to the US voluntarily gets no sympathy from me. They know what they are getting into.

Train tickets to MetLife Stadium from NYC set to cost more than $100 during World Cup (Gift Article) A return ticket via NJ Transit for the 18-mile journey from New York Pennsylvania Station ordinarily costs $12.90.

Another Fifa miracle: train tickets to the MetLife stadium which normally are $12.90 will cost $100 on World Cup match days. What Jesus did with loaves of bread and fishes, Gianni does with dollars.

Today's news is disheartening for sure. Hope we aren't in breach of PSR. Would be a real gut punch. Just when we thought to be reaching safety, it may come undone.
