100%. I think the novel is an inherently “comic” medium, going back to Don Quixote
Where is Rise? Did they get him off safely?
TBH, pretty funny that the only thing not working is their cell phone. Same, friends
I do appreciate whoever is doing the play-by-play on the NASA Youtube feed. His constant "Everything is great and on schedule" this whole time is reassuring because I really only know about re-entry procedures from the movie APOLLO 13 and there I had James Horner telling me how to feel
It is frankly ridiculous that a building as large as an NFL stadium could be considered old after 23 years
Thanks Mike!
I guess another way to put this: pre-AI there wasn't really a way to "prove," for instance, that a successful author was secretly paying a ghostwriter without their publishers' knowledge. Did this ever happen? Maybe. But you'll never have to feel bad defending yourself if you've never done it.
I feel for the querying author interview in this piece, but AI detectors are bunk and will never actually work. If don't use AI and just write the best book you can, you should be able to stand proudly and defend your art's integrity without fear. There's really nothing else you have control over.
Is Shaq Molotov then?

Renowned Iranian composer, Ali Ghamsari and tar virtuoso, announced he will stay at the Damavand Combined Cycle Power Plant.
His plan: Create music there as a symbolic effort to shield Iran's infrastructure from attack. @iranscreenshot
My novel opens during the Cuban Missile Crisis with a publisher deciding that if he's going to die anyway he might as well serialize a fantasy novel to make the author happy.
Anyway, hopefully we won't all die. If we don't I wrote a book about what it means to live through the end of a world. 📚🪐💙
It’s all very bad of course but I think the most likely thing is that actually nothing happens today because Trump gets bored/chickens out/decides he doesn’t need to/forgets.
My cat just saw the image of the Earth from the moon on the NASA broadcast and jumped at our TV and tried to eat it
Has he not made an appearance yet today? It’s Easter Sunday, don’t thy usually do an Easter Egg hunt at the White House, or at least a photo op with the Easter bunny? If he doesn’t surface at all today it definitely would be weird
To put it another way, we have only ever had one president who was born after the release of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE
A room full of horrors including a large, scary clown head
Today we visited the Vampa museum in Doylestown which is extremely metal and contains the single scariest artifact I’ve seen in a while (this thing is like three feet tall, fyi)
My sci-fi novel THE FRANCHISE comes out May 12th. It asks the question, “What if our culture just never tried to make anything new ever again?”

He might like Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Evens?
Will point out that for like $18 you can take the SEPTA regional rail line from the airport to center city Philly and then from Philly to Wilmington.
This was fun. I got to sign ARCs and feel like a real Grown Up author.
It’s incredibly entertaining. It’s not a difficult read, it’s just very long and has lots of characters. But honestly not any more complicated to follow than, say, a long-running prestige show
So many great quotes from this book. Love this arc for Pierre, who then goes on to join the 1810s equivalent of a Jordan Peterson lifestyle cult through the Masons:
