This was my entry to the Grand Prix (Chroma Corps). Completely missed the deadline but I've been following along and trying to get better. This guy (Sariel) is a nod to a character a friend and I came up with a long time ago.

Separated Rumors of barbarians setting up camp outside city limits had made it back to the castle. If it weren't for King asking again Blue wouldn't have organized a patrol. The King must be desperate if he offered me to take his horse, thought Blue. He passed the market center of town. A bustling city, bazaars coated the narrow streets. Clamoring townsfolk parted around Blue's steed. "It's been weeks, and he still isn't back" cried a lonely peasant to another. " It's about time they sent them" whispered a huddle of vendors glancing at Blue. Eventually making it past the sea of denizens, Red, Green, and Yellow greeted Blue at the West gate. "I like the new ride" blurted Yellow. Red and Blue shared a grin. "He insisted" shrugged Blue, "let's just get it over with". The gates roared open, shaking off dust and soot. The West Camp proved uneventful, after the last attack it seemed everyone wanted to forget it and go back to their crops. Tents, houses, and huts stood next to ruin and plants began to sprout through scorched ground. Even the blacksmith had opened back up. They continued on. The Northern Camp housed new barracks, no Gray Knights in sight. Tents and pristine flags danced in the wind. A few thieves scurried to a nearby forest. They passed a group of deer eating on their way out. The Eastern Camp was decimated. All that remained were splinters of tents and wagons. Without the encampments, nature took center stage. Red fiddled with a torn flag on the ground. "No survivors..." murmured Green. "No bodies either" added Blue. Surrounding what used to be the Eastern Camp was nothing but plains and forest, if it wasn't for pieces of wood and flags, it might as well have been unoccupied this whole time. "Better go tell the King" exclaimed Blue. "W-Where's Yellow? " asked Red. Green turned and pointed, " he's right behi-". Only the dried plains stood in their way to the tree line. The clouds kept the mountains company. One by one, they drew their weapons.
