DIGI_POL is funded by the “Generation of Knowledge” Programme 2023, in collaboration with the GADE research group (UOC), University of Salamanca, University of Bolonia, University of Valencia, University of Groningen, and members of the COST Action RELINK2 (relink2.eu).
A comparative analysis is also being conducted with Italy, focusing on the networks of organizations and individuals that finance and sponsor parties on Facebook in both countries. We aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of the tensions between partisan strategies for controlling platforms.
We examine the multi-platform usage (TikTok, Ig, X, Fb, YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram, Bluesky, LinkedIn) by Spanish political parties, identifying different partisan styles in message circulation, intra- and inter-party interactions, and the overall quality of political debate on platforms.
