If a likely former client shouts “Pimps” online and nobody retweets it, does it make a sound?

It was, bouncy.

If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes should fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

He clearly means me but acting as if I'm not a person outside a paper to report violating posts like home address of the ex-wife of someone in ICE custody which was taken down cause it's illegal in Europe, & the delusion of thinking I'm the only person who has ever reported posts like that.

Fact of the matter is that the guy illegally posted the names of asylum seekers and their solicitors currently involved in cases against the state.

He’s also, quite simply, a coward.

He shit himself when legal action was threatened and shut down his old blog.

what seems more likely: some sort of conspiracy to (unsuccessfully) get an X account shut down, or several people independently decided that an anonymous coward who doxxes sex workers and demonises immigrants deserved to face any consequences whatsoever for being a creepy, amoral scumbag.

I've also spoken to several people, none connected to the DI, who've been trying to unmask him or get him kicked off X for years, each for their own reasons and none in coordination. but it suits his ego to pretend there's a plot against him rather than a lot of people just thinking he's a cunt

the anonymous shit stirrer, liar and harasser of women NWL is accusing the Dublin Inquirer of trying to "interfere" with his X account by reporting his posts, which I find interesting as someone who has reported his posts many times and has no relationship with the Dublin Inquirer

Driving on the N71 earlier and came across a tractor stuck behind some cyclists.

Bit of an Alien versus Predator moment.

Also, stealing a professional photographer's image for a purpose that they most certainly wouldn't have consented to, while disappearing my editor Sam from the photo cause he wanted to target a woman only.

The thing about Media Commission grant is that it's transparent everyone knows who got it & how much they got etc. The thing about who runs anon accounts and who their financial backers buying them blue ticks to boost their reach are? Completely untransparent

Every reporter has a duty to scrutinise shadowy figures behind annonymous accounts who are deathly afraid of revealing themselves, but at the same time fancy themselves as sources of news, speculate & lie & misinform. It shouldn't matter whether that account has bothered us personally or not.

Gardaí say a man in his 20s has been arrested in the south of the country over alleged threats related to fuel protests made against an elected politician. No charge, file on case to DPP.

Probably fine. Definitely nothing to do with the far right influence on the protests.

I have a very simple rule about knowing who is behind a protest.
If your protest blocks a road, the time it takes the cops to smash your heads in with batons and arrest you is directly correlated to where the organisers are on the political spectrum.

As a fan of horror stories I'm looking forward to the next installment of Tales From The Gript.

Tucked away in this story is the very curious factoid that Niamh Uí Bhrian, of the Life Institute and CEO of Gript, rather unusually, works as an “Assistant Editor” for Gript, meaning she was technically both McGuirk’s employer and employee.

I cannot imagine that leading to internal friction…

Not a fan of the IT, but someone in Gript leaking info to it is HILARIOUS to me.

"Lawyers have been engaged by both sides and sources in the organisation said they could not see how McGuirk could return to his position, given the nature of the falling out".

Eat shit, Johnny Boy!
