For each session with our Fellows, we source a diverse collection of resources that provide background information.
📩 If you or your organisation would like to share information you think would be helpful to our Fellows on radiation and health, please get in touch!

Joining the Fellows and our Advisors will be two prominent practitioners ✨ Biologist Mary Olson, founder and CEO of the Generational Radiation Impact Project (GRIP) and ✨ Dr Carlos Umaña, immediate past Co-President of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW)
🧬 Through sharing the medical science alongside community ways of knowing, our Reclaim Fellows will build understanding and relations, strengthening the links between the science and the lived experience of impacted health in affected communities.
🗓️ This month the Reclaim Fellows will be joined by two prominent practitioners to learn the impacts of #radiation on #health. More than just facts and figures, the session will be an exchange of deep knowledge of health and well being in a nuclear age 🔗 nucleartruthproject.org/our-work/rec...

Three key recommendations:
→ Tighten radiation protection standards, account for multigenerational risks & gaps in knowledge
→ Re-examine early radiation risk data, including post-bombing studies from Hiroshima & Nagasaki
→ Conduct a full reassessment of multigenerational risks of ionizing radiation
⚠️ A note for affected communities: the report contains some graphic descriptions from the literature and from affected people themselves. Some content may be upsetting, particularly around harms during pregnancy and childbirth.
The report focuses on the multigenerational impacts of ionizing radiation from nuclear weapons use and testing — with noted overlap with impacts from nuclear power and related industries.
The Nuclear Truth Project is proud to present a specially commissioned report by Dr. Arjun Makhijani, President of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research, on 'Multigenerational Health Impacts of Nuclear Weapons Testing and Production.' 🔗 ieer.org/wp/wp-conten...

US and Israeli strikes on Iran risk spiralling into a wider, even nuclear, war. Call on the European Council to lead de-escalation, reject escalation, and stop Europe’s involvement in this war. Add your name. Raise your voice. Say no to war 🔗 generation-zero-nukes.movements.mov/pet/no-to-war

"By demanding strict respect for the United Nations Charter and international law, Spain is demonstrating that coherence between discourse, principles, and action is not only possible but necessary."
Carlos Umana writes "the Spanish Government’s decision to deny the United States the use of the Rota and Morón bases for its attacks against Iran constitutes a political gesture of enormous relevance." generation-zero-nukes.movements.mov/p/entre-el-m...
This Sunday 1 March is Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific Day. We mark this day by sharing two article by Nic Maclellan an Australian journalist and researcher who has written extensively on the Pacific Islands 🔗nucleartruthproject.org/nuclear-free-and-indepen...
At the top of the image is black text on a cream background that says: This 1 March, We Remember Nuclear Victims Remembrance Day. Below the text is a photograph of the Runit Dome in Marshall Islands which is a repository for atomic waste that the U.S. produced during Cold War weapons testing. Below the photos the black text on cream reads: Nuclear Violence Has No Expiry Date. On 1 March we mark Nuclear Victims Remembrance Day (NVRD). The 1954 Castle Bravo test at Bikini Atoll didn't end in 1954. For the Marshallese people, the fallout - displacement, illness, contamination - continues today. NVRD is now observed by affected communities across Oceania and globally, a growing chorus of voices demanding accountability, truth, and justice for nuclear-affected peoples everywhere.
On the 1 March we mark #Nuclear #Victims Remembrance Day. The 1954 CastleBravo US nuclear test at Bikini Atoll in the #MarshallIslands didn't end in 1954. This day it is now marked by affected communities across the #Pacific and around the world. 👉 nucleartruthproject.org/nuclear-viol...

"Is it Safe?" puts affected communities at the centre of the nuclear testing debate. Karina Lester's words on the British tests on Aboriginal land are devastating: "black smoke, silently, oily, toxic… leaving its poison for generations to come."
