Will never cease to amaze me how much billionaires and AI bros love to brag about how completely uninterested they are in thinking, or even being able to think, which of course is fundamental to their all encompassing antipathy to being human, all forms of life, and pleasure/joy.

Let's also talk about light pollution and what it does to us to not be able to see the stars...

If they require it, they should be providing it. Period. WTF?

I believe this is true, because I asked ChatGPT who I am and, since it is a plagiarism machine, it regurgitated my bio from my website.

It incorporated a few details from a few other websites. But it mostly just plagiarized mine.

I'm now considering all options for an update...

And that's if they'll prescribe it.

I had so many doctors refuse to prescribe it and act like I was a drug seeking addict for asking for it.

They couldn't even understand that even if I was an addict that it BLOCKS the effects of drugs and alcohol. 🤦

Yes, I've had to do this many times when people entered my (very small unit) for repairs while I was sleeping. I am extreme about precautions, but with air filters + good ventilation + distance I think risk is extremely low.

I run 3 very powerful air filters in living room and one next to my bed.

A very key one, hence a lot of RFK's nonsense, for example.

The fitness/wellness "community" has A LOT of that going on right now.

Sugar and cancer – what you need to know We take a look at claims that sugar 'feeds' cancer cells and explore the links between the amount of sugar in our diets and obesity.

So unless you'd care to explain, I can only assume this is some sort of fascist bodily purity fitness bs...

What’s the link between sugar and cancer? Eating lots of foods that contain sugar means you’re more likely to gain weight. Research shows that obesity increases your cancer risk.

Funny how the first two national cancer orgs that came up in my search say this is complete nonsense.

Our bodies need sugar to survive, though obviously in moderation.

And not sure if you are implying artificial sweetners are some how better but if so I'd love some of what you are smoking.

🤣 I know nothing about them, but from the little I understand of the bond action, it seems like the bond holders think that the odds are in your favor. 😉

I hope every last one of them burns to the ground, but I doubt that will happen.

I really hope I live to to see Enron Musk fall though.

Which is probably why I just saw some analyst headlines that the whole thing collapses when the first company cuts capex.

Which seems plausibly not far off after some of the moves in some of these stocks when they announced their eye watering capex expenditure plans last week.

House of cards...

People do incredibly foolish and highly unlikely to succeed things when they are deep in the hole and desperate, often ensuring they do even worse damage rather than just stopping.

The scams can't stop, but it would be wild for the real and profitable businesses to torch everything also.

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

While the players who aren't so desperate are more likely to call it a night before they put the month's rent or their net worth in jeopardy... they'll pull out before terminal damage.

Will that be MSFT? Google? Amazon? Are they going to risk it all in the end or salvage their operations?

This concept offers a potentially interesting metaphor for the industry.

The ones going so desperately wild all in are kind of like the guy who is drunk and been playing all night and is down $10k or $100k, his whole net worth on the line.

And he's got $1k left and just goes all in every hand.

It's an interesting phenomenon that I won't bore you with the technical details, but there is an fun parallel because the reason is that your last chips in a tournament are far more valuable than the first chips you put in.

By folding drawing dead you preserve valuable resources and don't go bust.

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

YW. It's a common misunderstanding even for poker players, but there are spots where it is correct to fold even when you've put 75-90%+ of your chips in already because you have 0 or close to 0 equity...

You see it most often in big $$ spots deep in PLO (Pot Limit Omaha) tournaments, for example.

More like sunk cost fallacy.

In poker, pot committed means that you have the odds for the remaining value of your chips (resources) relative to the total pot value that you can win.

There's no possibility of winning or getting a reasonable pot share back here, just a black hole.

What do I mean by consumption on a world destroying scale?

In the US/west, it's the incredible scale of resources, specifically water and energy - as well as the toxic spilloff - that is on a scale we've never experienced before.

And for almost nothing of public value.

They don't understand that what they are doing is consumption... and unfortunately on a such world destroying scale for which it's not possible for there to be enough value to compensate for the damage and waste of resources.

If it wasn't consumption, it wouldn't be a natural swap for Netflix.

These screenshots are truly sad.

It's the capitalists dream for us though... working 24/7 and thinking and dreaming about working every moment.

No pleasure, rest is wasting time: just feeding the capital machine while producing nothing of value nor living.

Hope these bros eventually get a life.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

It inspired me to get a high powered activated carbon filter. Regular HEPA filters do nothing for so many things.

If you have asthma etc, and even if you don't probably, it's so worth it. My asthma was getting worse with all the fires and air pollution, but haven't had to use my inhaler in a year.

And now the problem with having your public brand and facing social media accounts run as if by a 12-year-old dunce bully becomes apparent:

Why should anyone believe a word they post? I don't, and based on the comments, neither do others.

Be careful if playing on either Bodog/Bovada or WPT (+ACR)

The part I blacked out is an AI fake photo of Hawkins in a bikini.

Not only is this racist, sexist, and homophobic, it's quite a statement to be using the rapey X CSAM/deepfake porn machine for PR as gov'ts around the world are poised to ban this site over it.

Not ok. Not ok.

I saw the WPT Hawkins post elsewhere and thought it was a prank. But no, I just ss it from their feed.

Banning Hawkins is probably a good move, but this is beyond offensive and f'd up.

I was about to post the screenshot but I just can't, so blacked out part.

Seriously, wtf?
