This me (too)
Umm, no. Sorry RFK jr, you are wrong again.
A tote bag with a cartoon by Tom Gauld on it. The text reads "SHOP INDIE. SHOP LOCAL.". The image shows a sweet little book-filled cottage on a tiny island. The only inhabitant has set off on a very short journey by rowboat to a neighbouring tiny island which has a jetty and a small bookstore. The bookseller stands in ther door drinking a coffee.
"Independent Bookstore Day is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. Every store is unique and independent, and every party is different."

It’s earth day!!
🌎 plant a pesticide free native 🌱
🌎 switch your energy supplier to a renewable
🌎 take transit instead of an uber
🌎 then make fun of your friends (lovingly) for taking Ubers when the train is right! there!
🌎 heckle your family members. About whatever you want! It’s earth day!!!
Same.
two days a year this community rallies together and does something amazing and truly selfless.
one week until they do it again.
if you are new, welcome to the show.
A single 3" sticker of a mouse hugging a cup of coffee is inside a clear protective sleeve. The sticker is on top of a stamped envelope, and there's a tiny thank you card and part of the packing slip visible.
I think I like packing up and shipping a single #sticker as much as preparing a wholesale order of several dozen. I imagine someone getting Real Mail and being delighted...

Read and wrote a lot this weekend, in honor of National Letter Writing Month and thanks to they-were-away-so-life-was-quieter. I enjoyed no one watching youTube opinion mongers. No one was grumbly! Saturday was sunny and spring--good for birds (catTV!) and Sunday had snow. April makes me laugh!
July 29, 1977 This Voyager spacecraft was constructed by the United States of America. We are a community of 240 million human beings among the more than 4 billion who inhabit the planet Earth. We human beings are still divided into nation states, but these states are rapidly becoming a single global civilization. We cast this message into the cosmos. It is likely to survive a billion years into our future, when our civilization is profoundly altered and the surface of the Earth may be vastly changed. Of the 200 billion stars in the Milky Way galaxy, some--perhaps many--may have inhabited planets and spacefaring civilizations. If one such civilization intercepts Voyager and can understand these recorded contents, here is our message: This is a present from a small distant world, a token of our sounds, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts, and our feelings. We are attempting to survive our time so we may live into yours. We hope someday, having solved the problems we face, to join a community of galactic civilizations. This record represents our hope and our determination, and our good will in a vast and awesome universe.

And, DAMHIK about that message from Carter:
make art. even if it sucks
"Those taxes you just paid? The money is going straight into Trump's pocket" would be good messaging
Big batteries have begun reshaping the U.S. power grid. Now, the country has made surprising strides in making those energy storage systems itself, rather than depending on imports from China.
Good news! No pay wall.
Wow that's REALLY different. I also prefer ivory/creams to snow/gray tints.
I do not know when I'm going to need the yarn that I just bought.
I've been fortunate all my books have been well marketed (and all still in print). In SF I will once again wave the flag for Sheri Tepper's Grass and also its sort of sequel Raising the Stones, both of which are terrific, in differing ways.

The @birdsofvermont.bsky.social Birds of Vermont Museum, about to open (May 1) for its 40th year!
(That's 10x longer!)
Guess who's winning the war? "The world’s top 100 oil and gas companies banked more than $30m every hour in unearned profit in the first month of the US-Israeli war in Iran..."
I saw BOTH the ruby and golden crowns of the kinglets today!
Yay for remembering to bring my binoculars this morning!
For International Dark Skies Week -and every week, every night- know that light pollution is a significant contributor to biodiversity declines and animal populations, especially insects.
Especially the insects.

I love love love this one.
Just a quick reminder that there’s a beetle with explosive farts and scientists had toads eat them and the beetles exploded in their stomachs then the toads puked them up and the beetles lived 😃
These are the NASA projects that the Trump regime are terminating. Some provide vital data to monitor the weather and climate of the planet. Many are already fully operational and are to be discarded.
