It ain’t over til Minnesota has ICE’s battle flag
@joshmartinmpls.bsky.social how do I convince the DFL to stop using X? Who is the best person to contact to explain I dont want to donate money to any group regularly posting on the AI child porn website?
In your remaining time as Senator will you pledge to introduce legislation to abolish ICE? The majority of voters support it.
Angie Craig voted for the Laken Riley Act which requires the deportation of non-citizens who were charged, as opposed to actually convicted, of a crime. She didn’t want to fight for Minnesotans then, why does she think she can fight for them now?
Go to your caucus night and prevent her from getting the endorsement. For whatever reason dems are afraid to run against her, so force her out of contention on February 3
"What can Democrats actually do?"
- Vote against funding for ICE and DHS
- State that any ICE officers who commit crimes under Trump will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law
- Encourage cities and states to refuse to cooperate with ICE
- Explain ICE is part of Trump's tyranny
Something that may not be registering outside Minnesota is this: everything—EVERYTHING— the administration says about what’s happening here is a lie.
Big or small, it doesn’t matter. They tell the world untruths, and we in Minnesota suffer the consequences.
ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
I’m in Minnesota and I’ve been struggling to understand how people moved past this so fast. Family in other states hadn’t even heard about it. Hortman was on track to be our next Governor and she was an amazing person. I’ll save my tears over today for her and the children killed at Annunciation.
Absolutely - internet posting lacks nuance and is largely unhelpful. At the same time, when I look to ur initial post, I think countering the false narrative by sharing info of how est dems are supporting left dems would probably do more than writing off grievances as being paid for by the GOP.
But then how would you recommend democrats approach critiquing their own party? Absolutely there is manipulation coming in, but as a young democrat it is alienating to hear “vote blue no matter who” and then see moderate dems oppose leftist dems. Don’t we have a right to ask for representation?
How is this take different than republicans who say Soros funds protestors?
No one understands my vision.
From the New York Times, a post saying “Republicans did not wait for a race call to begin using Mamdani to attach Democrats nationally. Ed Cox, the New York Republican Party chairman, called Mamdani’s success ‘the most alarming signal yet of how far left and out of touch the Democratic Party has become.’”
Mr. Onion can you help me understand how a historic upset is evidence that democrats are out of touch?
@thepodmortem.bsky.social now, more than ever, our nation needs you to review The Tingler (1959)
"Masked security forces captured an opposition leader in the coastal province of New Jersey as regime officials continue their months-long crack-down against pro-democracy elements in the embattled United States. The arrest comes as the regime issued calls for summary detentions without trial."
“Abolish ICE” is the moderate position. Radical is “prosecute every ICE employee under RICO.”
When asked during the Q&A he said he was the only DFL candidate running and would not drop out.
FIRST BALLOT SOREN. DONE BEFORE FIVE. LETS GO WARD 8!!!!!
Live from precinct 10! Miscount but everyone got to vote and no one moved to remove our credentials based on political differences :)
@wedge.live and @dbrauer.net are here and reported on the questions! Happy to have the ward 8 convention legitimized (to me) by their presence
Questions done. Time to vote!
Josh Bassais is being really confrontational. Idk if this has been his deal the whole time but it’s very off putting.
Up to one hour of questions starts now. Josh says he’s the only true DFL candidate and gets booed lmao
Questions next. Way too many people writing. We will not be done by four. Dang.
Josh Bassais supporters at Ward 8 convention
Josh crowd
Josh talking about economic opportunity. Must be inclusive. Will partner with businesses. Josh people also doing a Josh chant.
Josh: “public safety is not just a priority, it’s a promise to our community.” Says it’s at the heart of his campaign, has firefighter endorsement. Must also ensure access to affordable, equitable housing. Talks about right to a home.
I’m constantly reminded I’m easily taken by a midwestern aw shucks mentality. Alas.
