A true low country dwelling in a hammock. It looks like a good place to have landed.

Definitely get some help. No one can or should do it alone. You know we’ll be sending you our supportive thoughts.
It is finally here! It’s still too early to much in the garden, but I can clean up the beds, fences, & edges. I hope all is well, Juan.
Thanks! They have multiplied since I planted 3 years ago.
A full bed of brilliantly yellow daffodils in the foreground, fence and prayer flags in the mid-ground, and green grass, dark mountain shapes. & blue sky in th background.
Finally, the daffodils have opened their cheerful blooms. The beauty of Spring is not to be missed!
BuddyGus would have been terrified!
Who was more mortified? Love your look, Miss Gretel. 🐾♥️🐾
That’s beautiful.
I got it. 😉💕
Yes, it really is.
I’ve come to appreciate it, too. 🩵
Agree! It’s planted near the porch so we can enjoy the fragrance.
Thanks for the repost. @jillschuler.bsky.social
The “brownest, goodest cookies around”. I should call them a study in brown. 🧑🏻🍳
Green grass and dark clouds make for a dramatic mountain frame.
Red peony nubbins are pushing up through the soil.
L->R & top->bottom: prairie smoke, hollyhock, lilac, and daffodils
Iris be lines a white wall in the left with green grass and bare crabapple trees to the right. Spruce trees and the eastern ridge plus a cloud filled sky are at the back and top.
April 1: spring is here. I just did a walk around, initially to see the daffodils, but then I decided to get my hands dirty and look for signs of peony, prairie smoke, and lilac life. They all made it through, and the transplanted lilac has settled in and is thriving.
And I’d happily serve you. 🤎
I wondered about that. I think I’ll plan a trip over there in May-early June. It’s time to start watching the peonies in the Reinhardt Peony Garden. I just checked mine, and all 4 plants have nubs just poking above the soil.
@goodport.bsky.social Look GP, the Japanese Garden opens today. Gretel will love it!
Always!
Ha! I’d be happy to share!
That’s a success! When my daughter tried the PB cookie, she declared it good, but it had too much flour. Rick, there was no flour in that cookie! I’m glad you can do that. I plan to visit Mom later in April & hope to finish her Sashiko pillow by then.
It has a very cake like texture & taste like gingerbread.
Cookies L to R: Peanut butter, pumpkin Gingerbread, and banana chocolate chip. All are in shades of brown with varied textures.
Waiting for I’m not sure what, avoiding things I don’t want to do, I bake. Three kinds of delicious made to nourish, too.
I’d skip the “affectionately”. That’s an Ankle, knee, and hip breaker for sure!
😂
My condolences. 💔
The yellow blooms are still tightly closed. Green stalks and green grass surround the emerging blooms.
They’re almost blooming, but enjoying Spring in the north takes time. Soon….all will burst into color. 💛🪴💛
Thanks!
Thanks Scott.
Thanks!
