Project Hail Mary was great. The movie and the book were both excellent. The movie made a few tweaks and left a few other details out but it made for a better movie.

awesome, go see it. It’s amazing on IMAX.

I think it’s really nice that Ryan Gosling’s been so successful despite his obvious physical disadvantages and unlikeable appearance. Good work!

Well anyway let’s see this thing… 📽️

watched Anaconda (2025) for movie night tonight and it was a good time. A rare thing when the supporting cast outshines the main talent. Fun stupid and unapologetic.

that looks amazing. I was so close to saying "f it" and going out, but there's so much salt on the roads.

yeah, those are the good ones if you can find one. I never quite understood it, but some people seem to think they want to ride dirtbikes but don't or can't get into it.

Their loss, your gain!

nah, pay no attention to the filth on reddit.

Mapping's a big part of the ADV skillset. Consider it practice.

might want to include the DR650 in those searches too. Comparable and capable.

yeah, there are a ton of them out there and you can find some good ones in the mix. Super capable, bomb-proof bikes. Heavy, but that big thumper will get you through some tough stuff.

dual sports are always going to compromise something. Comfort, tech, capabilities, service periods, etc.

the KTM 390 Adventure R should probably be on your list or RE Himalayan or even the CFMoto 450. They're all on the heavier side and closer to ADV than dual sport.

if you're looking for something smaller, the Suzuki DRZ4 looks pretty sweet, but lacks a 6th gear. Honda CRF300 or 450 but might need better springs for more luggage.

My ultimate choice for a Dual Sport weapon would be a Husky FE501 or KTM EXC-F 500, but $$$ and frequent service intervals.

sure, I have opinions! Maybe not great ones.

Sounds like you need something capable that you can cover some distance on. Maybe more of a light adventure bike than a proper dual sport?

Have you considered the big thumpers? DR650, KLR650? They're not exactly light but they'll get through anything.
