This movie made me want to work on an Antarctic research base. Perverse, I know.

I am old enough to remember when Charlie Kirk said “I think it's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights.” That was 2023.

That is a metaphor, not a policy. Not unlike “drain the swamp.” That is how we got people like Trump in office in the first place. We need to vote on actual policy if we don’t want charlatans to run on campaign promises to “burn the mattress” or “drain the swamp.”

In all fairness you cannot give credit just to Ozzy for Sabbath. Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler were musically relevant both as part of Black Sabbath and even into the 90s (Butler even had a stint as Ozzy’s bassist).

In that case you need to include Rudolf Schenker since the Scorpions formed in ‘65 even though their debut album was ‘72.

He started in the 60s and still made music in early 90s while dying of cancer.

If we included the Brazilians then we have many to add to the list: Jorge Ben Jor, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Roberto Carlos, … the list is extensive
