Finally, there’s an unprecedented event that’s a joy to live through: the Artemis II Space Mission. There’s a tremendous amount of context to catch up on, for anyone who hasn’t spent the past 10 days weeping over the moon, like I have.
Posts by Christie Megill
Peak crying about the moon this week.
That’s enough emotional clarity for today, thanks.
A true holiday classic ☘️
I don't think the pivot is necessary - more like most writing is pivoting away from unique voice, so that those who are still writing with their own words and style stand out by default. In a good way! In a human way!
It's not about the hyphen or Oxford comma or the use of bold - though those are all there in their specific ways. But it's about the way these words read.
If you send me an email written by AI, I can tell. And I don't think I can respond anymore.
I worry that everyone who is trying to connect - over email, over messages, through their own "writing," - is already just regurgitating the same format, style, tone, word choice, and structure.
It's shrinking expression down to a standard template. And it's awful.
It's so obvious when you've read enough of it - when you've been a reader. But I see it everywhere now:
How AI writing is everywhere. In marketing emails, newsletter posts, social media content.
It's hollow, and it echoes in ways that are sad and soulless.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Tonight, a crowd of carolers knocked on my front door; the kids and I gathered to listen to them sing by Christmas tree light, then we passed out gingerbread cookies we’d made earlier this week.
There’s still some goodness in the world.✨
It really is just TOTALLY INSANE how hard it is to make a truly excellent book. Nearly everyone underestimates what’s required. I think that’s why I LOVE hanging out with people who understand.
Winter Solstice is on December 21, 2025.❄️
I brought together 10 books to celebrate and learn more about this special day.
You can click on each book cover in the interactive choice board to find the book in @follettcontent.bsky.social Titlewave.
