I have developed the terrible urge to use the fancy Blackwing pencils I bought and use them to write secret messages for the future in obscure locations. It will make me feel better about the money I spent on them.

Love this stone. Feldspars are roughly the same density and hardness as quartz but unlike quartz have cleavage planes which are related to the phenomenon that creates the colorful optical effect but also mean that a hard wack along the edge of the cleavage plane can break the stone.

What does the back look like? I have bad memories of a split back ring the cut into my finger, but goodness knows if the ring was made correctly. Reading that it is open backed makes my brain say "ouch" but I am trying to figure out if that is a me thing or a weird ring or just me misunderstanding.
