GDQ submission text: Routing is the most interesting aspect of Pokemon speedrunning, and its the side we never get to show at GDQ. Every Pokemon speedrun route is the result of countless hours of work from many community members over the years, and just explaining the routing process during a marathon run is a disservice to how fun, challenging, and rewarding it is. We want to finally showcase the best part of Pokemon speedrunning on the GDQ stage, by routing a Pokemon speedrun that has never been done before, live. With a lot of help from my couch, we'll be calculating damage, figuring out the fastest way to win fights, determining item pick ups/shopping menus, & more. This is a Glitchless/Manipless Custom Starter speedrun of Pokemon Platinum, beating the game from start to finish with a Pokemon that has never been routed before. I've vetted 20+ Pokemon that will be viable mains, and we'll have a bid war between them to determine which Pokemon we use. We'll use ACE or other means to speed up text/HP.

I have one GDQ submission this time: A live routed Pokemon Platinum speedrun with an audience-chosen Pokemon that's never been routed before. We'll be doing damage calcs, fight/catch planning, shopping routing, and more in real-time. Our test run with Torchic was SUPER FUN, hopefully it gets in 🤞.

- the audio balancing in this game is ATROCIOUS what HAPPENED

idk it wasn't bad by any means its just really mid. not enough lightning in this game. really hoping lightning returns in the next one.

- im glad they give you the ability to yeet mog cuz i dont like him one bit
- just a weird game in general idk. this barely feels connected to 13's worldbuilding other than the names being the same.
- really really good ost (but then again it's a final fantasy game that's basically a given)

xiii-2 complete. didn't really like this one that much.

- combats are smoother than 13 but everything else is a mechanical downgrade to me. i hate the new crystarium it sucks!!!

the decision to not let you use mouse controls for the pokopia post-game ability is so baffling that it has actually shaken me out of wanting to continue to improve my towns. the promise of all this power and for what.
